Just had an e mail from my DiL. My youngest grandchild is at pre-school and today they learnt about pets. This afternoon when Mum was out of the room she fed the tropical fish. this involved standing on the arm of a chair, taking the lid off the tank and giving them a whole packet of fish food. Mum has tried to get it out of the tank but can't and now the poor fish are all dying. Mum was initially cross but has tried not to be afterwards as she was only trying to help. She is 3 and a half. My brother when he was little asked for some water to make mud pies in the garden. Mum said no, as we were going to be going out soon and she didn't want him to get dirty. He obviously only heard 'no water' and missed the rest, because he decided to make mud pies with a couple of pints of milk from the doorstep. He thought the pies were 'luvverly'. My mother's reaction, fortunately, was not recorded. nell

I did the lock yourself in a room trick when I was 3, it was our down stairs loo - dad took the bolt off the door after that and it never went back on again.

If you have seen Harry Enfield's Kevin, then thats what it's like to have a teenager around. They come complete with about 6 mates in tow, talk in funny voices that is one min quite low and the next squeaky! They eat all the rubbish, crisps, choc etc. Vegetables are poisonous, so is washing, clean clothes, making the bed and tidying their rooms. But you still love 'em (especially when they are asleep!) ENJOY!!! Claire

thankfully my son has now grown out of the terrible twos our relationship is getting better all the time. mind you that might have something to do with the fact he is 22 and has left home Bev

Easy remedy Lock her under the stairs or give some cough mixture that makes her drowsy!! ONLY FLIPPIN' JOKING!!!!! I've got 3 children, 14, 21 &22 and when they were small I would love the solitude of taking the dog for a walk when hubbie got home from work. Don't worry, we've all been there and they do grow out of it Claire

Yes, a long way to go, but apparently there is light at the end of the tunnel, a friend of mine told me that both her sons became quite civilised AFTER they'd left home. I think one of them was 30, lol! nell
