Dear Marje, , My grand-son is the only male in his house with four females (he,s 8). Generally speaking he has no-one to play football and the like with him. I,ve left an area of wall for him to paint when he gets here after school. My good lady is up in arms 'what if he gets paint all over him?' (it,s emulsion). Tell me I,m right or i,ll cry. Happy days

Harry, long after you have gone the little lad wont remember staying clean. But what he may remember is the day he wore Grandads old shirt and got to paint a wall........give him the brush and a guiding hand, the time you have doing some male bonding will stay with him for life.

Christine, Really a non serious thread but he does know the difference I,m afraid. His dad just lives round the corner and any excuse he can find, he,s round there.(probably to get away from people telling him to 'stoppit') . You,re in the will as well. LN - lovely words Best wishes Happy days

Thanks to you all for your interest. As far as the will goes, I,ve got a Rembrandt and a stradivarius. To borrow Tommy Coopers joke, unfortunately stradivarius couldn,t paint and Rembrandt made lousy violins. Boom boom Happy dayts

He did a bit of painting, but was more interested in help with his homework - drawing of a compass with 16 points thereon. I went to a grammar school and only ever did 8. his sister was mad keen to paint and couldn,t be stopped. female power. Happy days

Well Harry at least one of them did some painting. Kids are so funny my little grandson used to say can we go to Grandma's she lets me get away with murder. Got to the point I never get him coming in his designer!! clothes Grandma lets him get dirty!!! Like my Mum said a dirty child is a healthy child start to worry if they don't get dirty. Germaine x.

Harry when my 2 oldest lads were younger I sorted out old clothes and let them have fun, after all, the bits they missed I went over covering them, when they weren't looking, but they had so much fun it was well worth the mess that they made. Bev
