If I am to carry on posting here then I need to clear the air and make my feelings known. I am still feeling VERY angry and hurt by the people who accused me of being Mike on Saturday. I don't want an argument I just want people to stop and think about their actions. I am big enough and ugly enough to rise above this and in time I will, but the next person that they do this to might not be able to.

Kate - unfortunately people on here are overly suspicious at times - as some 'ex' members DID change identities and open more than one account just to cause trouble. In the heat of the moment it reoccurs - and you had the misfortune to be there at the time. I'm sure they can see they were wrong whether they admit it or not, but I understand how you must be feeling. (((HUGS))) xx

I hear what you are all saying but will this make them stop in the future? I even had one member asking me to PROVE who I was.

hi kate the best sugestion i can give you is to add a thread that all can join in with,and then judge.the people on here are fine ,all different walks of life but fine,forget whats happened and join in ,you,ll soon forget about the recent probs and maybe understand why some are suspisious,xxjoy

Whoever asked you to prove who you were is an idiot as there is no way any of us can PROVE who we are!! I'd put it down to experience and enjoy the site for what it is!! xx

Kate, I understand why some didn't think you were who you say you are. I'm not saying they were right to make accusations, but given the nature of the thread, and that you're a fairly new arrival who became quite vocal quite quickly, and that tempers were high at the time... I guess people took 2 and 2 and made 45. For what its worth I don't think you''re Mike. But then I'm not so sure Mike is Mike either lol Paul

i am the 'idiot' that said that- actually what i said was can you prove you are not one and the same? Which is slightly different. as almost everyone else here has said, people have multiple log-ins to to create strife and cause anguish. What happened early on saturday eveing LOOKED exactly that way, and i was by far from the only person that thought it. I invited you, as you were adamant that you had been around for ages and had previously posted , to tell someone your old name - Yours is still not a name I recognise and others will vouch for the fact that I am here on and off all day most days.Doing just that would have ended the uncertaity there and then - you chose not to, ok, thats your perogative. What you did do, as you can perhaps now see , is seemingly pop up and defend someone, for no apparent reason, who was posting for one reason, and one reason only, and for exactly the same reason as they did so agian today- to cause unpleasantness. You can hardly be surprised that people reacted in the way they did PARTICUALLY ( would have used italics there if i could not capitals)If you, as you say, have been around for ages and know how these threads work. jess

Jess, I do not have to prove myself to you or anyone else. I will state (yet again) to you that my name is and always has been KATE BURL. It is not my fault that you have not seen my name, nor do I feel the need to give out times and dates of when I have posted for goodness sake. Are you telling me that you actually sit there and take details of everybodys name? C'mon. How many members are there on GR... I do not think for one moment Jess that I will get an apology from you and that is your perrogative. It may be best to keep a wide berth of each other in the future, Kate.

I'm not surprised you are stil peed off Kate - I don't know you and you may be nice and you may be horrible but I don't think anyone deserves the hassle you had for not being known & for having an opinion. I usually say that there aren't cliques but it looked very much like there was the other day. Having said that you'll probably be best if you can bear it in mind but let it go:)

Well I will put my hands up and say that I was one of those who thought you were Mike. Now, I'm not sure. Maybe you're not Mike.... but I'm also not sure you are who you say you are. Either way, it's just my opinion so don't be bothered by me. Becx

As a really new person (only 3 weeks old) to this site, I have really enjoyed the chats on these boards, however I am amazed at what has gone on in the last few days. As a new member coming into an established community I am aware that it will take time for people to get to know me and I hope in time that I can be accepted. But if I can give my option: Yes everyone is entitled to an opinion and yes everyone is entitled to share that opinion. Yes, is seems that people in the past have abused that right and really upset people. However everyone has the right to respect. The manner in which people have replied to messages in the last few days (and we all know the ones I am talking about) is utterly dis-respectful. Please,please new and old members cant we be respectful. :-)

Sorry Catherine, What happened was that: I voiced an opinion and then I was accused of being someone else. They thought this because I had joined the site I think it was 30 mins previously. What the didn't realize was that I was already a long standing member, that day I had spent a frustrating few hours getting onto the site. For whatever reason GR would not accept my details so I opened a new account. I was then accused of being another member Kate.
