Jill it is quite simple as long as you understand them a) nothing you say or do is right b) the world owes them a favour c) expensive designer gear is their birth right d) tidying, cooking, cleaning is why they have a mother 5) financing their social life/mobile phones/land line phone bills(when mobile out of credit ) is why they have a mother that works 6) free taxi rides to various social functions is why they have a mother that drives h) you cannot possibly understand this latest crisis cos you have never, been a teenageer/been in love/been dumped/been broke/ had parents who didn't understand you see easy when you know how Bev who can be smug cos hers have left home

Jill, I really feel for you. I have a 15 year old monster who's moods change one minute from the next. A typical example of her moods happened yesterday. She came in from school I asked her how her day had been got the normal grunt then she sat down and she gave me a complete run down of her day, lessons, teachers, friends etc, it was the most animated I've seen her in months. 15 mins into this she said 'Why are you looking at me like that?' 'You always pull that stupid face when you are listening to me, why can't you be like normal mum's and not be so interested all the time!' Thereupon she flounced up to her room and slammed the door! the situation was so crazy I burst out laughing and I heard this very faint 'I hate you!' wafting down from her room. 10 mins later she came downstairs as if nothing had happened! The only advice I could give you is to remember they all go through it and come out of it and (most importantly) take one day at a time. Good luck Kate.

Hi Jill, My heart goes out to you, really! It does get better, eventually, but that's of little help now. My son has just turned 17 and is quite a 'nice' person now. But we had just what you're going through and worse! for the last 5-6yrs. All the typical 'bad boy' things. My M-i-Law, kept saying is dad and brother were just the same!! They turned out all right in the end! Aaaggh! Not what I want to hear! But she was right. He has turned out all right in the end. Thank God! It's a wonder he got to be old enough to, the amount of times I threatened to kill him! LOL Bev, That's oh so true, but funny when you've come out the other side! Debbie
