Hi to all, just bought a new all in one printer/scanner/copier, come to install it on my puter, it wont install, says 122 RAM needed, anyone else come across & suggestions for a PC that would suit, though not too expensive, Thanks to all.

Are you sure that it will not install? most puters these days have more than 122 MB RAM

Louise Report 17 Mar 2006 23:35

Yes I'm sure, it comes up in plain english, this system does not carry the required amount of memory.

No Gerri I know, the bloke in the shop said I only needed 1 cartridge for both black & colour which I thought bizarre, it actually needs 2 & their 15 pound each.

Louise, your thread never said, this system does not carry the required amount of memory, you said 122 RAM needed that is why i asked the question, I have one of those printers and as Gerri says the ink cost's a fortune, when i first bought it it cost £36 for the ink then when i ran out and went to buy some more it had gone up in price and now cost £72 to renew the ink they sell it cheap to get rid of the printers then hammer you when you want refills, dont get me wrong its a brill printer

thats cheap for the cartridges mine cost from £16 for black and £22 for colour Can not you take it back to the shop and ask for a printer that you can use, as the one you have is not fit for the purpose? even if you lose a small amount of money james

Louise

Louise Report 17 Mar 2006 23:52

it is: Hewlett Packard PSC 1402.

Louise

Louise Report 17 Mar 2006 23:53

Thanks James, but I dont want to take it back, its what I need for a up & coming work venture, so obviously my puter needs upgrading I think.

Hi Paul, Dont really know if they are compatible with other printers, & I know of a place where I can get these cartridges for a few pounds on our local market.

Louise

Louise Report 18 Mar 2006 00:09

James, although your printer is a more expensive one, they are v very good, though try your local market, a lot cheaper than tescos.

James Report 18 Mar 2006 00:11

I have tried cheap refills and Cartridge World but unless you are lucky then they do not print all that well, the HP uses a special print head that seems to clog when it is refilled. James
