My lovely dog, Murphy, a cross staffordshire bull terrier has been missing since 8,00 o clock last night. He is almost 14 years old and the daftest, softest dog ever, we are all so worried, He is partially deaf and cannot see very well. I have contacted the local dogs home, but he has not been picked up by them so far. Police haven't had any reports of any dogs in any accidents. Husband is just going to have some posters copied now and we are going to put them through letterboxes. Just hope he is found soon, he never stays out longer than 10 minutes. Little boy can't stop crying and I am not doing much better. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. *Update 16.08 pm, just rang back to local dogs home, they MAY have him, but want somebody to go and have a look. Husband is just about to go - heres hoping!, Thank you Carol. |

Further update 19.14 pm: it wasn't him at the dogs home. It is very cold out there tonight, i just hope that somebody has taken him in and is pampering him just the way he is used to. He is 14 and is used to a life of luxury. Carol |

We have a terrier cross called Murphy. He is almost 15, eyesight not so good or hearing. Fortunately he does not wander. Husband tried to take him for a 'walk' yesterday but Murphy did not like the steep bit so they came home. Hope your Murphy comes home soon. |

i hope you find him, ours is a pampered baby, bless her, and i cant help but feel sorry for them, i hope he comes home soon, mum and dad had a dog that was deaf, and couldnt hear them calling him, found him once curled up in the cupboard under my brothers bed asleep , they put bell on his collar after that, so they could find him, if he went up garden, or round the house, |

Thanks for all your good wishes. My niece just telephoned to say that her boyfriend had looked down an alleyway near us as he called to collect her in the car, and saw what looked like a black bundle on the floor. With great trepidation, my husband went to the alley, while we waited with baited breath. Thank god, there was nothing there, it was probably just a black bin liner that he had seen, but I felt sick to my stomach. Murphy has been gone for 24 hours now and I have a dreadful feeling we won't see him again. As he is 14 now, oldest son thinks he may have gone off to die, but as I said, Murphy is so pampered that when his time comes, he would want to be lay on a rug, with the whole family around him, probably hand-feeding him his favourite food and tickling his tummy. Thanks again for your kind thoughts. Carol. |

Hi Carol Fingers crossed for Our Murphy; hope he turns up soon. Have you tried the RSPCA Lost & Found in your area? In my area, there's a designated phone number for that. Try them? Keep us posted, won't you. Ta. (((HUGS))) x |

Hi, thanks for all your good wishes. No news so far (I'm hoping no news is good news). Rang the dogs home again before, but they haven't had any new arrivals today and suggest I ring back tomorrow at 4 o'clock, that seems so far away. Just spoke again to local animal sanctuary, but they haven't had any reports of injured animals or animals being found. She is going to ring me if a dog of his description is found. I have a poster on my garden wall and husband is encouraging all the local children to have a look, hoping the promise of a reward will get them into action. Once again, thanks for your thoughts and wishes, I will keep you all updated. Best wishes, Carol. x |

UPDATE: 15.46 PM. Murphy the missing geriatric dog is home!!!!!!!!!! Finally got through to the RSPCA this morning and they told me they had a dog matching his description in the hospital. After taking further details they told me that it definitely sounded like him and that they thought he had been in an RTA as he was having trouble with his back legs. They asked me to go and identify him, which of course I did, running out of work!! Briefly, it IS him, he cried like a baby when he saw us. They said that now they thought he hadn't been in an RTA but that it was due to his age that his bones weren't as supple as they used to be and had probably stiffened up. They let me take him home with medicine for his bones and want to see him next week. He cried all the way home in the car, until we got near to our house and then was silent. He is now propped up on the sofa, with cushions all around him, and my daughter, Aimee, stroking him non-stop - it makes a lovely sight I can tell you. Best bit is, youngest son, Luke, who is 10, went miserably to school today as I told him to expect the worst, as it had been almost 4 days that Murphy was missing. His dad has gone to collect him and hasn't told him yet that Murphy has been found. I can't wait to see his face when he sees him!!! Sincere thanks to everyone who gave me kind words and encouragement - sometimes there is a happy ending! Thank you all. Carol. |
