I live in the Spanish mountains. The only way to access my house is from a Rambla, which is a dry river bed. It has not stopped rainning since 10pm last night! If the Rambla floods, it means that we are stuck here until the water receeds. Pest has all her fingers cross that it does flood so she doesn't have school tomorrow. Lucky i done a full food shop yesterday LOL Annie x UPDATE: its 19:50 and its pouring down. I have laughed about it my previous posts, however, its now the 3rd day of hard rain and hubby is on the blinking rambla. Annie x

Running out of wine!!!! just opened the last bottle of red. Hmmmm NOT Good. The thunder is picking up again. Infact i'm surprised that i still have electric power, let alone internet connect, so if i go off line, its cause of bad weather. Annie xxx

Don´t suppose you have a local supermarket that does home deliveries !!! If only !!! Not sure where you are in Spain - but I think most of the country is expecting more rain tomorrow !

Elaine Nooooooo, please don't say more rain. i'm in southern spain, Almeria. About 30 years ago the Rambla flooded big time and in parts was over lapping the bridges. They keep saying that we are due another flood as big as the one 30 years ago. I am praying that this isn't the case. The Rambla has flooded a couple of times, but dryed up within a few hours and was only 2 to 3ft deep. My concern is for the houses that should never have been built so close to the rambla. If it ever floods like it did 30 years ago, then those houses will be no longer! Annie x

Well - sorry you´re too far away for me to deliver the wine! We are on the east coast, between Alicante and Valencia - quite a bit of rain here last night but has stopped now. I know what you mean about houses being built in the wrong place - A few years back we lived on a hillside, and a new house was built opposite - just where the water course was when it rained heavily. We did mention it to some prospective purchasers (Brits) - and got the reply that he was a chartered surveyor and he could see no problem with the house! Needless to say when it rained the water went in the back door, and then out of the front door the next level down!! Anyway hope the weather improves soon.

Hooray The rain has stopped finally. Pest not too happy..ahhh never mind. Elaine, i do worry sometimes that some brits leave their brains and common sense at the airport! Annie xx
