Hello Anne, glad you're at home now :o) I get numb patches too when I have a migraine, usually in my face, tongue and hands. Have a rest and hopefully you'll feel better later. Helenxxx |

I agree with the others that it sounds like migraine. Many people mistakenly confuse a migraine with a bad headache, but it's not. I've suffered from migraines since I was 12 years old and I would say that although I do get a fairly nasty headache, the accompanying symptoms are worse than the pain. My symptoms are very similar to yours. You do need to get the diagnosis confirmed by your GP though, even if he then suggests you use over-the-counter remedies. Please be careful if you drive home from work tonight - could someone follow you home? Take care, Mandy :) |

Definitely a migraine!! My migraines start with disturbed vision. Then comes the headache (which is putting it mildly!). Other accompanying symptons that I can get are dizzyness, nausea, numbness, inability to think clearly. Best thing is to lay down in a dark quiet room as well as taking painkillers. Common causes of migraines are cheese, chocolate, stress. My mum hasn't been able to eat cheese since she was about 10 because of migraines. Even slightest bit sets it off. Other causes are striplights, oversleeping (I can't have a long lie in anymore!), drop in blood sugar (don't miss meals!). Here's hoping you don't get another for a long time! It might be worth visiting your doctor to confirm that it was a migraine and nothing else maybe to put your mind at ease. Joanne |
