How true Harry ! Don't know why it is, but I have a completely different relationship with my 2 grandchildren. Stella.

You probably didn't have the time Harry. My hubby loves to see the grandchildren and he has more time to play with them than he did when our children were young. He was thrilled to bits to hear that our five year old grandson's ambition is to be a grandad, lol. Heather

How I agree with all the sentiments written here. I never had as much patience with my own children but I have it in bucket-full for my 4 beautiful grandchildren. My 2 youngest (age 3 & 4) spent a few days with us over half term and it was wonderful walking around Ikea with each one holding my hand.............. Very Happy Days. P.S. It also mean`t that I did not buy anything which pleased Grandpa even more. Lol. Love and Peace Marianne.x

First time I have logged on here in ages, as always harry you have set up a lovely thread. Quite poignant for our family at the moment as we lost my husbands father on Sunday morning, his Grandchildren are devastated as are we all. he adored his Grandchildren and they adored him he has left a great lot of beautiful memories for us to remember him by. A x

Oh yes Harry, it's wonderful and with the advancing years I've found a bit of tolerance and patience comes too! I don't turn a hair if my beautiful Granddaughter aged 3 in a couple of weeks 'accidentally' draws on the wallpaper hung permanently vertically instead of the left over lining paper laid out on the table for her benefit! If my boys had done the same I'd have been tearing my hair out! Cherry

I would love to be a grandma. I only knew my paternal grandmother and she lived away from our home, so I didn't really know her well and was always a bit in awe of her and scared too. Doing my tree has taught me a little more about her and talking to cousins I didn't know when young who lived close by her, has told me more about her too. My parents idolised my son but sadly my dad died when he was 7 and my mum when he was 12 so they haven't seen him grow to a man. I do hope I don't have to wait too many years to spend time with his offspring, will be so proud to have them to love and spoil. Liz Neeta, sorry to learn of your sad loss, but hope your memories make things a little easier for you all.

I'm not able to visit my grandparents so often, only once or twice a year, so I cherish every minute I spend with them. :-)
