I wish I had the internet when mine were little and having sleepless nights. I might have been more willing to get out of bed if I had something to do while feeding and winding. Think thats called multi-tasking lol |

Wish I was nearby, I would come and do a shift or two for you, really miss babysitting as I used to do that and childminding loads at one time. Hope little one gets better at winding and sleeping soon, I was on my own with my son, and had no one to take over, he nearly went out the window many a night. I tried everything ,had him in my bed, sang to him, plugged him in, all the things I could think of but he didn't sleep through the night till he was about 2 and a half, I was like a zombie, but we used to sleep late in the mornings instead. Funny really, he is a night owl just like me - 24 now and can sleep for England. |

In Hartlepool all the chemists do a midwive formulated concoction known simply as 'burp mix!!' really works but the ingredients are a trade secret though!!! You could always send the babe up to our ward tonight they've onot too many patients so I' sure they'de love to take over for the night! :0) Carol |

Aww bless her! Definitely gripe water. I was brought up on it (excuse the pun!) and so was my son, now nearly 18. Funniest thing is, he still hardly ever burps! Mandy :) x |

I'll do you a night shift, a day shift , and month shift if you like!! Are you sure it wind thats causing the aggro ? normally 'vertical' over shoulder works if there is wind to be had. Maybe it isnt wind. No all babies get wind. jess x |

My friend will swap with you if you like. Just to let you know though she had twins last week & has 2 wake them at least every 3 hours - feed one & then get him back to sleep & then do the same with her!!! With regard to wind - just make sure it's not silent reflux! You can get infant gaviscon to put in a bottle but you have to get it on prescription so if it keeps going on check with your GP. |

Debs Tiddler was the only one I had trouble with and used Grip water none of the otherws worked for her. She used to scream and I mean scream from 9pm til 2 am. Amazing whats on the telly at that time of night. A dummy helped her but after a bit she wouldn't have it so had to put up with the screaming for about 12 weeks. |

Deb, one of the ingredients they took out of gripe water was alcohol, maybe a drop of brandy would help. lol My son had what they called three month colic in those days & we used to take him out in the car for a couple of hours, stopped crying as soon as we set off. Was in a carry cot though so when we got home it was just a case of out the car into the bedroom. Don't suppose that's much help. Vivienne xx |

Trouble with sleeping when she sleeps, if that i work 9-5 from home. I have the company phone here and cant turn it off as i get paid to answer it. So i cant go to sleep when she does during the day :( Unfortunatly i need the money and my boss (my uncle) has been briliant. |

i thought my 1st one was bad with wind until i found out he was lactolose intolerant and he went onto soya milk and that cured the problem. But might not be the same problem with yours though Debbie |

MMm who said it gets better after a couple of years?........ my little mmmm angel is now 2 1/2 years old. He takes 2hrs to go to sleep after shouting at me to go in & see him every 5mins, wakes up at some ungodly hr (last nite it was 12:30am) and if I don't get up to him he gets himself up & bangs on either mine or my parents door shout I want cuddles mummy! cute it may sound but after 3/4 weeks it begins to lose its appeal!! Anyone want a really well behaved (except at night) toddler? Following on from wat someone said about dummies, I never used a dummy on my little man, up until he was 12weeks old if he needed comforting he had cuddles & sucked on my (clean) little finger. After this age he wasn't interested! |
