If I regretted it, I'd change it back. I've got a friend who regularly changed back to her maiden name after her divorce, but is now so friendly with her ex that she's changed it back. But I think her married name goes better with her first name and is slightly more exotic (he's Spanish). nell |

No - I wasn't keen on my maiden name - was teased at school - I like it now because it's unusual. I wasn't keen on my first husbands name either. Much prefer my surname now - it's not as unusual. I still have to spell my surname over the phone etc and have had to with all 3. Debby |

My son lives in Luxembourg and is married to a local girl there. For some reason they always keep their maiden name throughout their life for any legal or banking business etc. She is known by my sons name. This is her second marriage, but she has always kept her maiden name. Lynda x |

When I got married 27 years ago I couldnt wait to get rid of my maiden name !! But........since I have been researching my tree I began to have a longing for the name I no longer had. I realised I was the last female (that I know of) with that surname. I made the decission to change my name by online deed poll. It only cost about £40. I didnt want to hyphenate it with my married surname so I simply inluded my maiden name as another middle name. All the best. Susan |

At last ! something some ladies dont want to take from us poor fellas - it's usually take, take, take and one time we try to give and some dont want it ! lol should be copyright on it anyway once the marriage ends |

Don't like my married name at all, didn't like the first one either and although my maiden name's very ordinary it's still the one I think of as mine so yes, I wish I'd kept it. If I did it now though hubby would have a pink fit! Next time I get married I'll revert to my maiden name. Daisy |

I use my married name, have had it for 23 years, although divorced now. I don't want to get married to my OH of 12 years as he expects me to take his surname. Don't want to lose my identity. How daft is that. LOL Tina x |

I love my maiden name and would revert to it in a flash if I was single, I think getting into family history makes it more so, Cazxxxxxxxxx |
