Hiya. I'm going to the Milton Keynes bowl in 2 weeks time to see Robbie (yeah cant wait :-) ) on the ticket it states no food is allowed. How strict are they with their no food rule? and have you managed to get food in before? thanks. Karen |

I've been but I've never tried getting food in. I think they state this as that way they can ensure that no glass is thrown or smashed around causing injuries (not that I'm saying you wouldx) and on a more cynical note so they can make a fortune selling overpriced burgers etc. If you're really that worried try contacting the bowl direct. |

Karen I've been a few times (I live just down the road). I've never tried to take food in, but they're quite strict with regard to bottles etc. Theres usually a reasonably variety of food on sale though, albeit at extortionate prices. What day are you going ? Paul |

Karen, It's a bit like other venues and depends how strict the bouncers are on the gate you go in as to whether they search your bags fully or just have a quick glance. I'm sure a few snacks would be overlooked but I wouldn't go taking a whole hamper! They have a lot of food & drink stalls around the perimeter. You'll have no trouble finding something nice to eat. I'm a veggie and still had no probs. It's a great outdoor venue because of the way it is designed and the sound is always good. Beware - If it's raining, it will be like a swamp down nearer the front! (I got into a gig at Hyde Park this July with a big bottle of water in my hand and could see that the next line were having theirs taken away.) Enjoy your concert x |

That is strange, is it a fairly new rule? we went to a fireworks/band concert and everyone took picnics including us. we all took our own wine, tables and chairs etc. This was three years ago. maybe it is diferent for pop concerts. Ann Glos |

Ann, Yes, very different. For the pop concerts, they cram in as many people as possible - around 70,000. No way would you fit tables and chairs in, let alone be safe to do so... Paul |

Ann, Yes it's always strict for concerts, we are such a load of yobs us gig goers ;) The thing is, the plastic bottles they sell in the venue still get thrown around, so it really doesn't stop people misbehaving when they want to! |

I saw David Bowie at the M K B in 1990 Hottest day of the year, we arrived just before lunch by train, got straight on a courtesy bus , which left us stranded at the bowl with no way back....the first act was around 4pm. We ended up buying food there, but it was the many cartons of drink we had to buy which was the bugbare, small OJ cartons one slurp all gone. No doubt plastic water bottles may now be available ! Elaine x ps hated the MKB...blinkin nightmare...nuffink there...no shelter....nuffink.... |

We like to stay at the Peartree Bridge Inn when we go to a festival there. But have also been known to camp at the country park when the hotels are fully booked LOL Not been there for a couple of years, waiting for Ozzfest to return! |

Viv. I'll ask my cousin if she knows the family.. she lives in Stony Stratford.. Son went last year to greenday concert, I gave them large bottles of water and they were taken of off them, think it was ok if it had been small bottles and they had to be sealed... I made them eat before they went in as food is so exspensive...... My brother is another Paul from there...lol... Pat |
