An extended family member is opening up a new Music / Pub Bar by the end of the month .... and has just rung to ask me if I want to work for them - as Manager !!!! It's still sinking in. .... I'm absolutely gob smacked. They know that I bar maided for years and years and that I have looked after pubs in the past (covering Holidays etc) ... but it's been years. They feel that I will fall straight back into it and be able to work along side them to help Manage it. !!! They admitted that I was their first choice BECAUSE I am older, and would therefore get the respect of the staff, and my experience is a bonus together with the fact that they know and trust me. I've already told them 'YES' ... but they've given me till Friday to think it over and let them know for definate on Friday .. when I go down for a drink with them. ! OMG ... I can't believe it ! Think I'm dreaming :-)))) I do so hope that by putting this thread up, that I'm not gonna jinx the whole thing ... Elaine ;-)))) |

Good Luck with getting your personal license if you haven't already got it. If you haven't you may need to get on the course as a matter of urgency - they are very well subscribed at the moment - also there is a huge back log with CRB checks. |

Kris - Thanks for the advice ! Have just been looking on the internet for local courses .... 2 days I believe ?? ... or that's what I've been told. About £150 most ... but they are gonna pay it for me ! .. as it benefits them anyway ! I'm already CRB checked ... but that will need renewing in January :-) Elaine ;-) |
