I was just about to put up a thread asking the same question. Is it a full version do you think? |

I'm just guessing but from the price of full version it is probably just a starter version. |

Just loaded it, and the first page is offering an upgrade to the full version, for reduced price of £19.99, so yes it could be a starter version. Sharon xx |

I also found that my free subscription to Ancestry on my FTM only gave me the American one - I don't think there is such a thing as a free lunch ! |

Kris I noticed PC world were offering FTM with a one year sub to Ancestry. I'm glad you said it was the USA one, I was thinking about getting that. Won't bother now. You're right, there is no such thing as a free lunch, and I couldn't see how the Independent could offer the full version of FTM 2006 for free when its still on sale in the shops for £30 - odd. |

Did anyone take up the offer in the Daily Mail last year to have a book printed. I typed up my family history, added some photos and the book came out great. I'm hoping they do the offer again as I've got loads more info now the 1841 census is out. |

Well I'm using the Family Tree programme. Its not a 30 day trial, but it is basic, though I can add photos, it has a scrapbook, reports and references, it searches online, it's printable, and fully editable, with maps and other references, so I'm quite happy with it. Obviously there is an upgrade option, but so far this is enough for me. Thank you the Independent. |
