Guess it is a long way to come buggs, but there is probably plenty needs doing in your area as well Ros, I am so envious Nana, we had relatives that were watermen. The museum is more about the industrial barges that did short trips. Not the ones that families lived on, and travelled the country on, which was a bit disappointing. Saying that, I have learnt a lot about the industry of the time by going to the museum ;-)))

I always feel better for some strenous exercise, so now I am pleasantly relaxed, not aching at all and I know I will have a good nights sleep. I am dreading the long dark nights I always feel trapped, can we all speak to the creator and ask for no more long dark nights. Elaine.

Hey wait! I have had a day outdoors and only just come online. Up 6 30 took my dogs for a 3& a half hour walk filming dragon flies dogs butterflies etc etc. Came in for a bacon egg tomato and mushroom breakfast come lunch and worked in the garden weeding all afternoon. Another walk with the dogs fed them then had a ham sandwich and two cups of tea. As soon as I put the puter on I booked a trip to spain to see my friend at half term, so you see I've had quite a productive day. Elaine.

Gloryer, my cousins lived at the seaside, and it wasn't till I stayed with them, when we were all in our early teens, that they got to go on the pier. Their parents had never taken them when they were younger. I found that really odd Buggs, the property I volunteer at is going to try and clear a path round the south lake when the season ends, they could do with experienced volunteers, if you fancy travelling to Kent Guess you enjoyed seeing your son Ann, don't see much of mine since he has been married unfortunately

Some people just dont appreciate living by the sea. I was brought up in a city and a trip to the seaside was a great day out for us. When I was 18 we had to move and was lucky enough to move to Ramsgate. I got a job at tesco and mentioned that I was going to go swimming in the sea after work and they all gave me such a peculiar look as if its not the done thing. Dont think any of them went to the beach. But now I live near the humber estuary and enjoy being able to go to the beach with the dog whenever I want to. Must admit that I dont often go to the actual beach where the holiday makers go unless I have the grand children with me but I do appreciate it.

It is lovely. I lived in Bognor for 10 years, the last two or three about 200 yards from the sea. It was a nice 10 minute walk alongside the sea into town to work, really soothing. And the new place is even better, cos it's smaller, so less people about. Can't wait! Nature reserve close by, too. You'll have to come down for a paddle, Dee. update - Yes Gwyn, around Bognor & the day has been hot & sunny! :-)))) Jen
