I have decided to change my name on genes from my actual name of Alan Tennuchi to that of 'Alan From Cheshire' I have done this to protect myself. It would appear that all posts from this particular page appear on the internet in general. Let me explain. If you were to 'google' your name, the info that you have put on this particular section of genes, appears on the internet and is available to all insundry without them having to initially visit the genes site.

I've just tried it for me on google - none of my posts show up. I wonder why some of yours do? One of the internet's mysteries I guess.

omg I just googled my name and it came up on a web search through GR with personal info I'm horrified. going to change me name. catherine xx thanks for this Alan I never knew this.

Alan, I just googled your name and could not believe how many times the GR or FR sites are mentioned as the source. Is this to do with them claiming copyright to information on this site. Maureen

Alan I just gogled and found they even have my address on there it came from the Brtish legion who i thought would have beena bit more careful with there lists xxx

I have tried at least 6 names and I am shocked at how many references to members of this site can be found by googling. Alan thank you for the warning. Have you taken this up with GR yet as would be interested in any reply that you got from them. By the way my board name has nothing to do with sexy clothing LOL Maureen

just done an internet search on google for my real full name and my board name looked through five pages for each name and NOT ONE was about me or directed to me on this site or any other site for that matter Paul

heck I just checked mine and seems like I am all over the place, even gives my old e-mail addy on the front page. No wonder there is so much junk mail going around. THere seems to be another gloryer that is into the dark side of life.

You must also think that if accessability for peoples names and whereabouts on the net were NOT available to everyone that wants to find someone then this site and all other sites like this one would be useless. Think about why your on this site ?? What you do on this site ?? Answer----- Your searching for people So when you actually think about it it is usefull Everyone who is registered to use the internet IS easily traced if you know what your doing Paul

yes but it does not just lead you to this site. I like many others are members of other sites and I just googled and found a journal for myself but when i went there I hadnt written anything in it. It was when I first started this hobby in 2003. I dont like my e-mail addy being quite so freely available on google.

Hi All Well I have just googled myself - what a common name I have - got fed up after page 20 it just went on and on. Did not find the true me but I could have been dead, director of Costs del Sol Estate Agents . I wish - I am a book - a nun - thats a laugh . and so on - so I gave up . but perhaps will go back to Mary in Spain - can someone answer a question for me please - does that mean that when people contact me from GR my surname will not appear. Off to change name - see you in a mo Mary in Spain
