Has anyone else noticed that the membership fee is now £9.95 for 6mths? I am a full member but my husband isn't and to upgrade it would now be that price. Christine

I paid £9.95 in August for a year, but obviously they have changed it. Christine

If you click on Help/FAQ's under how much does it cost, it says If you choose to upgrade to full membership it costs <wc:fld>cost_of_upgrade</wc:fld>. wierd

I am not going to upgrade but don't understand why they quote different prices to some people. Christine

I had that show up on Friends reunited so it may be a slipup on their part seeing as they are sister sites, but when i went into accounts [of both] they showed up as being the full year ,not six months Fred.

I have had a reply from support team and it does now cost £9.95 for new members for 6mths, but existing ones can renew for 1 year for that price. Christine

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 7 Feb 2007 09:45

that is some mark up from £7.50 to £19 in a year. Wonderful ITV. Well if it goes up to that for existing members (&I didn't think I would ever say this) I would not join. ann Glos Ann Glos

They say that they are doing a lot of advertising to attract new members but I don't see how doubling the price will attract them. Christine

I suppose it just shows that they are ignorant of what is going on in the genealogical world and just interested in making money. A pity the papers can't get hold of it, that would deter people from paying if they knew how much they have put it up. It was predictable as soon as they took over. Ann Glos
