Coffee ice cream, complete with bits of ice, in a cornet. Mum used to give us money for a hot drink after we'd been to the swimming baths but I always bought a coffee ice cream cornet with my money! Sue xx |

Flying saucers with sherbert in them! My Mum used to send me to the corner shop to buy things and let me buy a few sweets with the change. I still like the pink shrimps too. Sue |

Although I haven't had any since my childhood, Wall's Peach Melba ice cream, which I remember to be quite tart. There was always a fight EVERY Sunday when my Nan sent us to the shop after our tea to get the ice cream. My Aunty (18 months younger than me) always insisted that it was her turn to choose the flavour (did I metion that she was very spoilt?). She liked Raspberry Ripple, which was too sweet for me. Funny thing is I still don't care too much for sweet things. Deb |

Sterilized milk ,or paralised as my OH used to call it. Mum used to have two pints of that plus 3 pints ordinary milk every day. She would water the sterilized milk so to make it go further.as we were a big family,.Horrible stuff, only just palatable in Camp coffee cos it dampened down the chicory taste. Better taste was Liquorice wood especially if you got a sweet bit,and Trebor Fruit salads and my favourites Black Jacks. Shirley |
