Gwyn in Kent Report 13 Feb 2026 15:06

Does anyone know how Sylvia is?
I haven't seen her posting lately.

AnninGlos Report 13 Feb 2026 15:39

I did meet quite a few people on the boards in the early daysI went to meets at Droitwich, Bristol Newport, Swansea.

The are only a few still on here that I have met, Gwyn, Jude, and Sheila (I seem to remember Sheila was at Droitwich) (Webbs garden centre). If there is anyone else, feel free to jog my memory. I do see some of the others I met on facebook occasionally. And sadly several of the lovely people I met are no longer with us.

Evening All, I thought I'd pop on and say Hello and catch up with the gossip.

It's interesting reading your stories of meeting other members. I have met one fellow member, and have a plan to meet another. It's always nice putting a face to a name - unless the face is mine of course!

Morning everyone.
Can't believe we've now had 2 days of "proper" daylight, after many dark, dreary & very wet days we actually had a blue sky & sunshine.

It came with a dusting of snow & very cold but the sunshine made such a difference, it's the same today & just hoping we don't get anything more than just dustings of snow, anything more than that & the Snowdrops will be flattened & the Daffies that are well up will be damaged.

I just need for it to warm up & I just might be able to venture outside, not actually to do anything yet but a wander round the garden would be lovely, LOL.

Joan.

Ow wow, it is sunny and not raining here as well. Only one degree, but you can’t have everything

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Feb 2026 11:55

We have crept up to 3 degrees and it is beautifully sunny. Very cold of course but I have no plans to go out. even doing the dreaded housework is better if the sun is shining.

JustGinnie Report 14 Feb 2026 13:52

Sunny here also and yes Ann even the H/W seems better when the sun shines although it does show up the dust that has settled more.

Joan, I agree with you it would be great to get out in the garden to just potter around for a short time but still too wet and cold at the moment.

Have a nice weekend all.

We woke up to a covering of snow this morning, but it has mainly disappeared I hope that it isn’t too bad for everyone else

Hi Linda.
I was woken up around 4-00 am by gusty winds, couldn't get back to sleep so just laid until daylight came in at about 7-00 ish.
About an hour later the wind had abated thank goodness, the sun has been shining for most of the morning & no snow today.

It is still really cold but it is still February so not expecting it to warm up just yet, but it can't come quick enough, it seems to have been cold forever.

Very wet here but starting to brighten up. 7 degrees still quite chilly but I have no plans to go out.

Stay warm everyone, hopefully spring will come eventually.

ArgyllGran Report 15 Feb 2026 12:58

Well, we're back to the rain and cloud, after three whole days of sunshine.
But at least that means it's not frosty, so the house feels warmer, thank goodness.

It was bucketing during the night, and I woke to find lots of puddles in the garden.
There's quite a lot of snow on the hills, but none down at this level.

Perfect genealogy weather!

Afternoon all

Its a bright sunny day after some light dustings of snow which has gone. But the easterly wind is making it very cold outside.

My bulbs are growing so quickly its hard to believe its only still Feb!

We went out for a valentines meal last night which was very enjoyable.

Just made chinese chicken for tea with mixed pepper rice tonight, something different for a change.

The wind was very high last 2 days here but has also abated now.

Keep warm all

Afternoon everyone looking in.

Beautiful sunny day here but with a cool breeze of course but none the less a lovely day.

Just finished a huge pile of ironing whilst OH stripped and remade the bed. teamwork is dreamwork as they say lol.

Few more usual chores to do and then decide whats next for the rest of the afternoon.

Hope everyone ok today and that some of you have the sunshine that I do :-D

I've messaged too.

It's only just after 8.30 am there so the day will only just be starting.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 16 Feb 2026 17:04

I hope that Sylvia sees her messages and replies.

It was a lovely sunny day here, but very cold. It it now very dismal and according to the weather forecast we are going to have rain from about 8 pm all night

As it is half term, I don’t have to do my school reading, so I have spent the afternoon doing family history. I managed to find lots of baptisms and marriages for one family branch, so am very pleased with that. There must have been an update on Ancestry because they weren’t there before .
