Back to Roses, I have the most beautiful red climber going up the front if the house. It us about ten years old now, flowers for a good ten months of the year, more if mild. It blew down in the high winds this time last year and was laying across the lane.

We chopped it off half way up tied it back up and straight away it started flowering right up until the New Year, it was in flower again by Easter. It is now around twelve foot high again and ten feet across.

Anyone who walks past comments on it and I have recently planted another in the back.

It is called Dublin Bay. M

Yes it is good to see colour in the garden. Sadly we lost our hebe to the frost, well it was frosted, not sure if it will recover. :-(

I have an Arthur Bell floribunda rose that I planted last year, and it is so full of beautiful creamy yellow delicate smelling flowers...so pleased with it.
Bought a Lili Marlene red rosé a couple of weeks ago from Morrisons and that is now flowering .
Have a peachy coloured one that comes every year, don't know the name, but my OH loved it.that now has some flowers on.
My hebes are looking particularly good this year.
Isn't it nice to see all the colour after a long winter!

Thanks Maryanna for that advice. I shall look forward to it.

Still windy here too. sun is also in and out because the wind is blowing the clouds over, but it is very warm.

Lovely part of the country you live in! :-)

Ann, your Buddleia won't flower quite yet. July, August and even into October is the best time for them, you should have lots of butterflies.

Keep deadheading.

Prune it fairly hard in early spring but don't cut into old wood.

Windy here north Exmoor coast and that sun just will not stay out.

Lol Wisechild, I suppose being an Island it would be windy like Lanzarote. The good thing is that it blows the clouds away.

Merlin, thanks for that tip, might try a bush rose in a pot. (won't be able to move on the patio soon for pots :-D

Lynda, I did get some quite good ones of the windsurfers battling the waves. Unfortunately the one day we drove up to El Golfo and Lod Hervideros, the wind dropped, so no waves at all. Luckily we have been many times before and have some good photos already.

Extremely windy here (normal for Menorca).
OH keeps rushing out to sweep the blossoms from the patio every hour or so. It´s totally futile & will drive one of us insane. My method is to sweep once a day & that´s it.
Think I may have to surgically remove the broom from his sticky mitt if he carries on.

AnninGlos - I know what you mean about about the huge waves in Lanzarote! They are mesmerising! I tried for age to photograph them when I was there, but could never capture them at their best! :-D

Hello everyone. Only my second year of rose growing and it is so exciting watching them. They are all climbers, all smell like roses should, and vary from peach to pale pink. Compassion, Aloha, and Zephrin Douhrin if you dont mind :-D I cluck over them like they were babies and when one got mildew I was devastated! But, with the help of the Roseman (Merlin) I think I have beaten it. They are all in containers as only have a patio.

Hot and sunny today in London.

Its gorgeous here, abit of a breeze and a few grey clouds. 2nd lot of washing is out, 3 rd in machine.
Off out at 3pm to a remembrance gathering for our vet who dies a few months ago, so many people wanted to pay their respects, he was such a lovely dedicated man. His daughter has asked everyone to wear nice bright colours:))

Also been sorting craft room, such a slow job, everything has to be sifted through, so much paper work, things l've printed for craft, grandchildrens drawings/painting, had to take them down whilst house was being viewed...into a folder now till the move:)

Bathed madoc this morning, all nice and clean now, we don't bath him often, but he has a few fleas from Rosco next door....grrr....well we can't see any but he's scratching bless him.

We have loads and loads of Bee's and some wasps, they love the foliage/plants etc:)
Off to the cupboard again:)

You are Ann, well I hope you are! yes just checked you should be able to see them I think? as I can see yours if I click on 'photos'.

I have one rose which should be peachy like my avatar when it comes out, and the other is red, as is the patio rose :-)
