Are you buying as you normally did, or have recent events affected your shopping/dietary habits. |

I have lived on my own on and off for most of the past 25 years and eat a lot of chilled ready meals, usually the microwavable ones. They do not appear to have caused me any health problems, and at my age, I am nearly 70, I have no intention of changing my eating habits now :-) |

I'm reluctant to buy to be fair. I don't buy too much pre-packed stuff but I was appalled to think I may have eaten horse. I know it's not bad for me, but I subscribe to horse charities and like to think I'm protecting them not purchasing them to eat. |

I don't eat a lot of meat anyway, but if I feel an overwhelming urge for some fatty, aggression charged red meat :-D I buy from Waitrose.... 'we KNOW our farmers'.... as we don't have proper butchers near us, unfortunately. |

Must admit it has made me wary. I did occasionally buy the odd 'made-up' meal, particularly for the OH for when I was not at home. |

We don't eat loads of meat, and I buy most of it from our local farm shop. The pork is especially good, as the pigs are farmed on site. They also sell really nice free-range chickens, pricey but really superior taste and texture, and nothing gets wasted. We have the odd ready meal but I'm not that keen, find them over salted and sloppy sometimes. The horse-meat scandal won't affect our current shopping habits :-) |

No, I believe that the recent horse meat scandal will have made the supermarkets more careful of their suppliers and anyway seldom buy ready meals. |

I have not changed my eating habits I shop mainly at a large tesco, still buying their steak mince as well as Willow farm chickens, pork chops etc. As long as they all now take extra care, which they seem to be doing, it is fine by me. I rarely buy ready meals. |

We have changed our purchasing habits, but that is down to the cost on the shelf more than any thing else. |

I don't buy a great deal of ready meals but I now make sure I buy ALL my meat from Morrisons as they have their own abatoirs........bought most of it from there previously because they do different cuts from other supermarkets... |

I periodically do a bulk buy at one of our many farm shops, but I still buy Morrisons Best Mince. Also, if the bulk buy is running abit low, I will also buy chops etc. from Morrisons for the same reasons as Muffy. Had no complains with their meats. |

I do often use turkey mince , because of the lesser fat content. When in a sauce or gravy my husband does not notice. :-D |

Well our local butcher can sell T-bone steaks at less than 1/2 price of supermarkets and only a few weeks ago just as the row about mince broke out - OH order some steak mince from him - butcher cut it off, put it in the mincer and said to OH ' you can't get fresher than that'. |

My gran would go into the local butchers and ask for a pound of steak mince, and qualify that by saying not that stuff in the tray in the window, freshly minced please and make sure you trim the fat off. I am sure the butcher and the grocer next door to him lived in fear of her :-D |
