Would you like 60 Minute Makeover to be let lose on your home? If so which rooms would you like done. If not why not?

Personally I would not want them in my house. I would be filled with horror if I came back from a nice day out to find my furniture in a skip on the road outside and my living room painted red and lime green.

No need for them here, Wendy. My livingroom is already painted red and lime green :-D :-D Joking apart, I would be most uncomfortable if they were let loose in my home...wouldnt like it one bit. I like my own junk!

Absolutely not! lol I hate most of the rooms they do.

I would like the DIY SOS team though, and would be very happy for them to do my living room, with its thin lining paper over very poor plaster board. and perhaps Bob if he is still with them could fit a nice bespoke kitchen to go with the settle I have in it, and a shower room under the stairs :-D

No thanks,

Changing rooms was a bad enough experience :-(

Sometimes when I see the people arriving back to their house and looking round at the teams handiwork I look at their faces and think to myself "they don't like it but are afraid to say anything" I wonder if anyone does say they think it is awful but these programmes are never shown.

Also the team wall paper walls but never paint door or window frames. It's like only doing half the job.

I do remember this series was they painted a real wood polished staircase and bannister in an old house and when the couple came home the woman burst into tears

Not that one,

Me and the wife had just bought a second home to do up and rent out, and she thought it would be a good idea to see if she could get them to do a bedroom because she had always wanted to be on such a programme,

A nurse and Nickers on a bedroom wall?

I stayed out of it but i was the one who had to rip their bodge job out and start again

I think decorating etc. needs a lot of thought. We've recently had a lot of building work done, and I find you have to 'live' in a room for a few weeks before deciding on colours or decor.

OH! The "knickers on the wall" have even made it into my son's vocabulary when describing something a bit 'tacky' lol he only mentioned it the other day :-D

Porkie_Pie

Porkie_Pie Report 1 May 2012 16:42

Rose, You remember that one then?

It was horrendous, I had to rip the lot out whilst the film crew were still their, OH was devastated and would not go back into the room until i had removed it all

I was amazed at the bad workmanship, Good job they never wanted payment for it because a child could have done better

Your poor wife must have been so upset, I know I would have been....

When I started reading the posts I thought you were going to say the one were LB did a red room with the knights table and crests everywhere that was certainly a catastrophe !!
