This year has been a catalogue of disasters for me and today is putting the icing on the horrible cake!!!!

Over the year I've had the the following disasters

rotary line rotted through at the base and collapsed on the lawn with a curtain on every arm!!

land line went kaput and had to buy a new phne

starter motor went on my car

pranged car in M & S car park

fell over in Asda car park

dishwasher packed in

a good friend died and then our Daff went too

this morning Sky TV has packed in - waiting for engineer - may not come until tomorrow

put a new CD in my music centre - don't use it very often - haven't managed to play it yet and now I can't get it back out to play it in my car

am unable to access AOL and all my emails are on there

thinking of driving to the coast and leaping off a high cliff but knowing my luck the car won't start or the tide will be in

I'm sorry but how can you list the losses of a good friend and much loved GR member along with what are just annoyances and inconveniences?

Have you unplugged cd player from mains, then started it again??

Of course you have,you,ve just had a duff year, everyone gets one sometimes,Smile :-D :-D and just in case you fancy jumping off Beachy Head, sorry :-S not allowed,they,ve chopped the head off. :-) :-) Cheer up girl, you could have something worse :-S Like me living next door to you :-S :-S.Take care.**M** ;-)

It is strange how some years seem to come out worst.

This year I has been a bad year for me and my family.

. My son had to have a Kidney removed with cancer.
My son in Law had a cancer operation.
My cousin Freddie died with cancer
lost a dear friend with Cancer, he used to be on the boards Reg
related to me on my family tree.

This year my fridge /Freezer packed up.
My Cooker went wrong.
I have been ill and my doctor has had to come out to me at least four tines this year.
Then I had trouble with my Computer took three weeks to get it sorted.

so I think we all suffered during this year.The worst is when you lose someone in the family they cannot be replaced.

Oh Rita - you have had a bad time - at least apart from the fall I've had a good year healthwise

And Island, the loss of Daff and my friend Alan do not of course compare with any of my other disasters - I was actually listing them in chronological order, not in order of importance

I donlt have a "Pippa" - in fact, I hardly have one at all Merlin

It's Jupiter which has been visible in the east soon after nightfall since about August. My brother reckons it was this that the three wise men saw so I'm claiming it as Christmassy - even though I haven't attracted any wise men, just a load of GR loonies ;-) :-D

Prickly Holly thinks it's a cheesey nibble and Pauline asked if it is a gobstopper :-D

I've had an awful year this year to....But heres to next year...I shall be a grandma in April and I can't wait!!

no word from the company who cover my Sky TV - I am bereft without it - I am readking my book "At Home" by Bill Bryson - a good read, fascinating information and written in such an amusing way, as with all his books

I'm up at the crack of dawn in the morning - 6:00 am - going with my friend to Southampton to pick her husband up from a cruise ship - he's a comedian/singer on the cruise liners and has been on a short trip to Madeira since Friday

Lucky you Jules - I would just love to be a grandma but it won't happen

Thanks for telling me Island it is rather cute. I kept looking at it and thought I saw snakes heads then I looked again and thought it was a chain wrapped around a ball then I thought it was a world globe.
. now I know.
