Hi folks, guess what, our complex now has internet facilities so here I am to say hello.
Weather is scorching, mozzies a pain in the butt and have I been bitten - one got me on the foot within an hour of arriving!!!

As for sleeping, there are dogs tethered up in various properties that bark and howl most of the night even the owner of the complex is fed up and trying to do something about them, but it does disturb everyone's sleep and by the time the dogs shut up the blasted cockerels start crowing. We haven't been far yet just wandering down to the village to eat most evenings and sitting by the pool or on the balcony sunning ourselves. It's been nice to catch up with the people we got to know last time but it's quite expensive here now, food prices up a lot in the supermarkets. Today we walked to the next village and sat on the beach and ate icecream, won't be losing any weight as just eaten a lovely pasta and beef dinner here at the complex restaurant .

Take care everyone and be good

Hi folks, I am safely back on Norfolk soil!

Very tired as an early start Friday for travelling and went out on Saturday to Sheringham as it's so unusual for o.h. to have a Sat. off.

Nicely tanned almost all over and probably haven't lost any weight but enjoyed the hols and will update more during the week as I get time.

Missed you all of course and mentioned some of you at times.

Met a woman who has fibromyalgia, and our neighbours at the complex had a sister who has it too.

Trish, the forecast for Norfolk is pretty warm for the next week so hope it spreads to you and everyone at some time during the week.

love

Welcome home Liz, and back to GR. I hope to be off to the Chathams in 4 days, but I have had a 'tight' headache for several days so think I should see the doc first. I dont want to go spreading measles or meningitis or whatever to other people, but on the other hand I hope it isnt anything that is serious enough to stop me from going on my hol. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Huia, hope your headache is nothing more than tension which often happens to me so that you can have your holiday too

O.h. insisted on going out again on Sunday afternoon, to Hemsby this time, which is another coastal favourite of ours and a similar distance from here to Sheringham, around 25 miles. Had a quick paddle in the sea, a bit chillier than in Corfu but the sun was shining and the sand was softer. He has no more holiday to take now except a couple of days at Christmas thanks to his company messing the holiday entitlements around earlier this year and making him take a week in March which he didn't want to do so he has no chance of having a long weekend till next year. There is also the probability of him having to work some more 7 day weeks as more new machinery being installed soon, but as he said it will help to pay for the holiday which cost a lot more than usual and it means I will have a fair bit of time to myself too lol

Still tired therefore and lots of washing still to do, hadn't been able to do all his work stuff before we went due to him working the morning of our getaway so had to do that before I started on holiday things but the forecast is good for this week so should be able to get laundry dry easily. I think I will pack a lot of summer stuff away in cases in the loft to make more room for winter things to go in the wardrobe without being crushed, won't bother ironing it all once it's clean as I will wash it out again when it's needed.

I got a lovely PerUna cardi/jkt in 30% merino wool and 70% acrylic (M & S) from a charity shop in Sheringhamon Saturday, so light but warm for the cold weather ahead.

Going to try and get an earlier night tonight so I can get up for the counselling, so will report back when I am more 'with it' lol

Mary, my pal, I ate for all of us lol Had some scrummy icecream desserts too on the rare occasions I had room after the main courses, they don't give you much veg except potatoes in various forms but there is always lots of meat on the plate. Some tavernas give you chips, roast potatoes and rice with the meal, phew!! We favoured the places which did provide a few carrots, beans and peas or salad just to try and say we ate healthily lol

Caz, yes I did feel better altho it was a bit difficult to sleep on the harder mattress than I am used to, but then I remembered last time I put the thick duvet type cover under the bottom sheet and that made the bed much comfier. Most nights only needed a sheet over me as it was so warm and had to close the shutters but couldn't close the inner doors to the balcony to shut out the dogs barking as I would have suffocated.

Have a look at Blue Gardens, Roda, Corfu to see the rooms etc.

Doc thinks it is just a migraine headache with a cold. She prescribed some nose spray to use for a few days before going on the plane. I have some heavy duty headache tablets, not that the headache is all that bad, I have lived with it for about a week now, only occasionally taking tabs for it. At least I got the all clear to go, I was so afraid it might be something horribly contagious. Recently some people caught measles from somebody on a flight in NZ. I havent had measles. And meningitis is flourishing in parts of NZ.
