Have you ever won a prize for anything?

The biggest prize i ever won was £1000 about 4 years ago when i entered a competition with the local radio station.

I couldn't believe it. The worst thing about it was the fact that they repeatedly played my reaction to winning on the radio for about a week afterwards.

I cringed every time i heard it!! :-S

I have won several small prizes in competitions. when I was a child I used to win prizes in musical festivals for reading and saying poetry. Won tickets to the annual horse show at Gatcombe Park about four years ago. otherwise nothing major.

Yippee for you Jules...........you soo deserve some good luck!!! xxx

I went to Bingo with a friend many years ago
We agreed to share if we won anything. What she failed to tell me was the fact that she didn't have a clue how to play it, so there was no chance of her winning anything.
I won £200 and begrudgingly had to share it with her!!

It was a week before Christmas which was very nice indeed.

The occasional five bob for kids comps in the local paper for painting/drawing.

A regional prize (probably tokens?) in the Brooke Bond national schools comp - anyone else remember this? I think it was writing and painting.

A Yard Birds album woo hoo :-D

and Eighty quid on the Lotto. :-D

Contrary Mary that really made me laugh out loud.

I won £150 on a scratchcard a couple of months ago.

Before that quite a few years ago postal orders from the local paper, childrens competition club, how times have changed guess they would all want computer games and computers as prizes now.

I started winning raffles at primary school and I can remember winning a lovely doll with a pretty dress, as I stood next to the nun who was handing them out she said theology a microphone, "Bridget has kindly said she will pick another number as she is lucky to have lots of dolls". I had said no such thing and still remember how mad I was.
After that I started winning many prizes and one tickets to shows, books, if I went to an event, ...yes I would win the raffle.
When my first son was born 40 years ago the first Christmas I won so many teddy bears that we gave them to lacal hospitals.
About 25 years ago we went to a car show on the way to heathrow airport to collect our daughter who had been visiting her aunt and cusion in Scotland. On the way we say a car rally and Raffle collection for a famous London Hospital. As we were about to leave an announcement said it was the end of a five day raffle tickets sale where all monies was going to a special unit for injured bike and car drivers. A lady selling these tickets asked me to buy her last 4 tickets, one in two of which were in different books and the other two were in another book. I bought all four for a pound each and .............YES I won the first prize, a very beautiful car , my then husband could not believe it and he became the owner of this wonderful car. I cannot recall the name know but it was equivalent to winning a tip top old Harley Bike, or even more. It was valued independently as a value of £125.000, not bad for buying 4 tickets.

Didn't buy many raffle tickets after that.

OH number 2 one a raffle for a first class airstrip to and from New York with 3 nights paid for in a New York, he was terrified of flying but he was determined that he would take the prize, and we had a fantastic two weeks in the USA, oh still does not like flying.

Must start buying tickets again........

14.30hrs Spain :-)
