Hi,

I repeatly used the option of SINGLE payment of membership rather CONTINIOUS one, and it always go back to the latter then money was taken out when I needed it (I was going to pay for membership next week). Did this happened to anyone before?

Really fedup of keep doing it, will email and complain once more.

Have always been on continuous membership, its cheaper than yearly. You can still leave when you wish. Cant be bothered with doing that, I like to know I am always paid up.

I have always been continuos too. Which is why I still get a 12 month membership.

I have never used continuous and I paid £7.96 for this year.
Would it be cheaper if I went to continuous?

Continuous annual here as well. However, didn't get the notice (during the last few days), only that they had taken payment. AND wasn't there a discount being offered at one time, cos certainly didn't get that.? :O

However, it's such a p*ddling amount on the £9.95, I'm not fussed.

What I mean is I always clicked on SINGLE.. but it kept reverting back to continuous.. It shouldn't do that should it? I never had continuous before.

Mine was 9.95 a month.

I suspect that you have always paid on time and never lapsed at all Joan which is why you are on 12 months. By being on continuopus I avoid the possibility that I may accidentally lapse. I paid £6 for 12 months.

Yes, you do not to have to be continuous to retain your previous concessionary terms. The rule is that you renew within 28 days of you membership expiring.

DIZZI

DIZZI Report 15 May 2011 13:30

MINE WAS £6 FOR THE YEAR REDUCED FROM £7.50

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 15 May 2011 13:58

Why so many different fees for the year?

August 2010 paid £9.95 for the year

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 15 May 2011 14:43

mine was also discounted from £7.50 Dizzi.

The variations in subs have been around for several years now, I think probably on how promptly you pay, whether you have even lapsed, may be other criteria as well. I* just wait each year and see what theya re going to charge. Whatever it is I think it is good value.

The only difference between single and continuous is that with continuous Genes automatically take the money when it is due.

T when you've set your membership for single did you save your settings afterwards. If you didn't then it would stay on continuous.

Eames Report 15 May 2011 22:43

Hi,

Yes I always save the settings afterwards.. It kept going back to continuious when I check the settings later in the month before the payment was due.

i prefered to pay the sub when I can because £9.95 a month is a lot for me on top of genealogy sites the I'm subscribed to.
