The fires were a worry Sue, no lives lost which we are grateful for, as usual the recovery was swift, amazing what a bit of rain will do. We have since fireproofed our place a bit more. Just a very hot and dry summer does not go well with fire.

Sofala, now that is a place with history, some people we meet are amazing, they touch your life so briefly but leave a lasting impression. I have some distant cousins also born there, during the gold rush. Winter there I could do with out, too much fog, which I do find dismal. My dad was born in Sydney, but once he moved to this area he would only go back for visits, he also learnt to love country life, from an early age as uncles had farms and he would visit them as much as possible.

My mother in-law grew up and married at Leeds, Yorkshire, she went home once and could not get back here fast enough. My youngest hated growing up here, now she is older and wiser she said she cannot understand why she felt that way and comes back as much as she can.

Love it Tony:-))

I was born near Leeds, Gail. I was only 3 when my parents brought me out to Australia. They went back to England a number of times but they said that Aus. was their home. I've been back to England a few times too and I love it but Aus. is my home.
