Do you think D Laws has done the right thing?
I most certianly do.

I feel for him poor man with his private life exposed ,but its because of his private life its happened.
Also in 2009 breakout there was every chance for him to go get his situation checked out privatley just incase there was anything wrong.

Good Morning Kay ????. I think he has done the 'gentlemanly thing' in resigning. I was quite suprised to read/hear of this today. He could have 'fronted' it out, as many of the others in the same position have done.

He had to go. The excuse of trying to hide his sexuality his ludicrous. He did not need the money to pay for rented accommodation in London so he could have just claimed nothing.

He should go now before he is pushed. Otherwise, he is truely a man without honour.

He has fraudulantly obtained money and so not only should he be prosecuted for it he should be sacked as an MP and be made to pay everything back.

he didnt have to claim rent . he must have known the rules so if he didnt make a claim no one would have known about his relationship anyway,seems to me he thought he would get away with it !!

I belive hes done a bit of back peddling with his statement and using poor me privaterelationship .com rubbish as a get out clause,he remortgaged his house to buy the current one which he paid his partner rent to.
then tells us we have to tighten our belts as we're gonna be hit big time,, think they all must take the hypocritical oath

I don't care about his sexuality but he shouldn't have put a claim in for the rent nearly a £1,000 a month supposedly for just one room.....HA who does he think he is trying to kid...

He knew what he was doing so he should pay all the £40,000 back with interest.

The Hippocratic Oath is an oath historically taken by doctors swearing to practice medicine ethically.

The ethics of Mr Law is seriously in doubt. It would be very naive to think he did not know what he was doing. He has taken money by deception no matter which way it is dressed up. His sexuality is not an issue, it is the fact he fraudulantly claimed expenses that is the issue.

If he wanted to keep his private life private he would not have claimed, he just thought he would get away with it.

No choice but to resign and I will be surprised if he continues as an MP. Current situation demands that MPs are squeaky clean and as he made a lot of noises in his election campaign about the expenses issue, i dont think he really has a lot of choice.

squeaky clean no such thing in Goverment they are there to pinch as much money as they can then retire with a big pensionAs As are pensions are cut

He has done the right thing by resigning. I actually feel sorry for him in some ways, as he obviously felt he had to claim to keep his relationship a secret.

BUT he should never have done it, nor let it go on for as long as he did. He could have stopped claiming at any time.

I don't believe the reason he claimed was to keep his relationship secret. By claiming he puts the possibility of exposing his relationship in the public domain. If he wanted to keep it private why risk being investigated by taking expenses. Surely he would not claimed expenses.

If i steal a pint off milk or loaf off bread i would be down a police cell all night and court the nest day.the more you steal the less it hurts.
