He will get away with it but if you or I had "fiddled" Mr. taxman out of a measly £1 the book would have been thrown at us.

It is unlikely you will find any generation where stealing, embezzlement, fraud, or misappropriation under any other ‘fancy’ title has not been practiced. Sadly, that's reality.

Mr Laws should be prosecuted for fraud - no question, but these people seem to be above the law, they certaily act as if they are. He is allegedly a rich man anyway and talk of hiding his sexuality is total rubbish - I couldn't give a toss if he shares his bed with a sheep, his sexuality is none of my business. Now of course he has been caught out it has been publicised from the rooftops so he has technically shot himself right through the foot!!

i agree with the above statement.Im sick off MPS telling the public how to act when they do damm well what they like.

Neither do I. Until their is complete transparency and accommodation bought for MPs to stay whilst in London that belongs to the tax payer then reducing in the long term this expense. Also no personal expenses for example food except at business meetings, no decoration fees. They are their to do a job. They get paid a high salary to represent our interests.

I have never understood why when tax payers money paid motgages on houses that the tax payers did not then own those properties? The furnishings were also paid for out of tax payers money so why is it that we as taxpayers do not now own furnished properties to be rented out. When properties were flipped why was the taxpayers not repaid with interest?

So as David Cameron is looking to make cuts then maybe he should start by looking on his own doorstep and stop this theft of public funds before moving on to public services

According to a radio report, he will be 'welcomed back' as a Minister in the not too distant future. It seems this country cannot survive long without him. What drot! The cemeteries are full of those who thought they were indispensable.

If my boss syphoned of £10 a week from my pay so that he could have more to spend on himself when his deception was discovered I would expect him to be prosecuted. He would expect to be prosecuted.

So why is it that MP's are exempt from prosecution for what is essentially fraud?

I do not feel sorry for him as he has brought it upon himself through greed.

Where is the exceptional integrity promised by the new Government?

£40000 is a little different to a pint of milk or loaf of bread. He should not get away with a caution
