Would welcome suggestions, as I have tried Hotter and Wider Feet but neither have eased my poor aching tootsies! Have bunion on each foot, two hammer toes, and am trying to avoid having surgery. I see a podiatrist every few months but she is not very good. Soooo I am looking for a GR miracle idea!! lol BC XX....

Echo shoes are very comfortable - your GP may be willing to refer you to the hospital, and have some specially made

I have wide feet with high insteps and one has the tendency to swell too .I wear. Fly Flot shoes, boots and sandals and find them great i buy the ones that have the Velcro fittings so can adjust the width according to how much swelling there is .
I got them from the shopping channels and they now send me a catalogue from time to time . They are available online too
Cant say they would be the answer though . OH has hammer toes ,its a congenital deformity for him, .He had the worst one "done" many moons ago and its fine but it did put him off having the second foot done .Sorry !

Have you tried The Shoe Tailor? They do a wide (pardon the pun, lol) range of shoes, sandals and boots for the wider foot... including up to EEEE in some ranges. I find then that I only need to go up a size, not 5 sizes, lolol The shoes and boots, in most cases, are quite fashionable, too... they are online, but I get a catalogue as well.

Yes, try 'Shoe Tailor' as they stock a variety of manufacturers and styles. I bought a pair of boots from them a couple of years ago and they are lovely.

I do not have a problem with shoes as any of the above, but would welcome some imput on this. I have two lovely pairs of slingback wedge heeled shoes. However, because I had a bone off the back of each foot as a child, I cannot make the straps stay in place. I have never had a problem with this over the years, just these two pairs, which are 'K' shoes, by Clarks.
Many thanks

You might find one of those gel *comfort* plasters will grip them and keep them in place, Julia... have you tried it?

Or... paint with copydex and leave to dry...

Julia how about some of the double sided tape used to hold up stapless/ backless bras? Think Debenhams and Primark sell it.

Julia Report 30 Apr 2010 14:12

Hi Daff, thanks for both suggestions. I have not come across the 'comfort' plasters. And, please forgive my ignorance, but what is copydex. It may be something I use, but know it under a different name.
Also, at this time of year, when I wear the shoes, I wear knee-highs, to keep me feet warm, but when the weather gets hotter, I am just barefooted in them.
Many Thanks

Copydex is a glue... rubber based so be careful if you are allergic.

The comfort gel plasters you can get in Boots... they are filled with a gel which hels blisters, and prevents rubbing/slipping shoes, so they may work with stopping the straps from slipping.

If you have such problem feet you should be referred to the Appliances dept of the hospital and have some fitted. It doesnt cost you anything. Have a go at your GP. If you are diabetic, the diabetes DR that you see.
