Thanks Auntie Janey....I presume you're paying.

Maybe we can tie it in with that Australian meet that Sue Maid promised us? Sue was very kind in lending us her credit card to pay for the trip over there.....Now who do we know half way????mmmmm

Halfway from Toronto to Australia would be ... Hawaii. Sound good?

Only problem is you can't get there from here. Except by going back out and down through the Panama Canal. Suits me. I mean, obviously I'll get on at Toronto.

Well, yes, but we'll have to go all the way to australia to pick that lot down-under up to join us. We can go on to India for Muffy's curry then.

I have your transportation problems solved. As should any colonial who is familiar with the term transportation.

The Nut Lodge Arsenal ArkRoyal is moored in the creek below Nut Lodge. It is crewed by our team of Cyber Pets and is always ready to set sail at short notice.

The last time it ventured to Canada it was impounded by Canadian authorities. Took a lot of negotiations by RMS to have the ship and its crew released.

Voyages on the AAR are virtually free. Well in fact they are virtual , full stop. So there won't be a problem with the cost. Unless of course you would like to make a donation to Nut Lodge which you may send to me.

My white envelope just came on. I go to inbox and discover I have 6 messages. Now, did I really just get 6 messages in the last 5 minutes?!

Maybe a bunch of people have just accepted an invitation to stay with my mum and her cats. ;)

I did reply this morning before heading off on Anzac Day excursions. Hit the wrong button and lost it all.

The little white envelope is playing up. GR have been asked to fix it, several times, no luck so far. It will be there when it should be gone and you will have messages without notification.

Do you lot realise there is a Pacific Islands cruise with a genealogy theme. March 19 to 26 2011. We are joking about it but it is real. Looks like a very interesting idea. I will try to find the site link and paste it for you.

I know we can but dream. The pricing is there if you click on the links above the main heading.

And this is the venue for the 13th Australasian Congress on Genealogy and Heraldry - Your Ancestors in their Social Context in 2012. That might give you lot more time to save up. Me, I am laughing.

Janey, All joking aside and back to your original question. Is it that you are serious about a meet in Toronto.

Is the Canadian Genealogy Society or their equivalent hosting such a gathering. Or are you aware of such a meet for which you need to have this information made known to those who might be interested.

And if you do not reply to my gmail (gmail, not gman) question you will be receiving a PM. You need to decided between yes I did with no result or no I did not but should have, as your answer.

Silly Aunty. ;)

I just thought some of our island-bound colleagues might fancy a trip abroad to meet one or two of the foreign friends!

We did have a meet here last summer ... me and one former long-time regular at GR. (Glenys the Menace has gone away from the boards - probably didn't renew - and I keep thinking I have got to get in touch and see how she's doing ...) So that was kind of what put it in my head, plus of course all the talk of various meets that thee and me won't be getting to. ;)

I've been having to use my gmail windows for work accounts ... I shall look, O mistress.

It is a bit miserable reading about all the fun ain't it.

I have found an Oz site which details the family history meets across Australia. I never knew they had any.

Cannington? What's this Cannington?

Good heavens, there's a place in Ontario called Cannington. And do you know, I think I probably passed through it on that trip to my mum's via Peterborough ... that I finally attempted by car, after giving up on the notion of doing it by first swimming the Atlantic.

That way lies madness! If you actually manage to get to Cannington, there's a good chance you will never get out again. ;)

I wonder why google maps is showing me Scarborough City Centre on Lake Simcoe (near Cannington). It's in Scarborough ... east Toronto, down by Lake Ontario ... No.1's brother got married there ...

I'm thinking google maps is out to get me.
