Good morning Aussies and Pommies,

Wild weather again last night, very strong winds, rain: but at least with the cloud cover it was not overly cold.

The rain has eased of so I have been able to go for my usual early morning walk, but the wind is still howling

Hope everyone has a good day

Regards

Allan

ps just after finishing typing the above....down came the rain. (well I am a slow typer)

Good morning all in Oz. Goodnight to whoever is left up in Pommyland.

Rain promised last night and to-day here in Sydney - but nothing as yet. Went for a drive yesterday - middle of the day - and the sun coming through the car window was beautiful. Didn't need the aircon. Once the sun disappears, though, is a different story!

Yes, I too, have the odd bits of Irish in my tree. Scottish too, but then, one branch of my tree lived up on the border. I still haven't worked out why they had three children whilst living at the same address - registered two in England and one in Scotland?? I think there may be more Scots before that, but that part of the research is still in progress.

Good afternoon, Aussies and good morning to any Brits who are up early and looking in:))

I had a busy but nice day today - shopping, picking up my grandson who is having a treat tonight sleeping over and putting some rubbish on the footpath for the big council pickup. It's been threatening rain all but nothing yet - it's been cold though.

Well done SueMaid!

Perhaps the Vegemite theme song should be our National Anthem (only it's not Aussie anymore is it?)

I know, I know "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport". THAT should be our National Anthem!

Quite chuffed with meself for thinkin' of it!

Hi, Alison - they've changed our vegemite but I haven't tried the new one yet. Vegemite on hot buttered toast is a treat:)) No we don't own it anymore:(

I think "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport" is a good song for an anthem but Rolf Harris doesn't seem to belong to us either:))

Put it back in the cupboard quickly Alison - we don't want Rolf to come looking for it:))

If you're a Goodies fan, SueMaid, they had an episode about England being taken over by lots of little Rolf Harrises (ssssss).

I've only just seen this thread not having been near my computer for a while. I live in Gloucester at the foothills of Barrington Tops.

It says a lot for all of those Poms that want to be honorary Aussies doesn't it? They are obviously all jealous that we live in God's Own Country and they don't.

AlisoninOz you live in a most beautiful part of NSW. We have been in that area quite often over the years.

Alison I have seen that Goodies episode - quite scary isn't it?

Well, The Goodies had a good breeding programme going there for a while!! Lots of little Rolfs running around.

AlisoninOz, I think my great grand-dad's brother drowned in the Barrington River. Is that near you?

SueMaid, what happened to your thread? I clicked on it and it came up an invalid thread and then it disappeared?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 16 Jul 2009 13:37

I thought better of it Alison. I've said enough:))
