By clicking on the Post Date arrow, it reverses the order and the last post is on top. Threads on other sites are fixed that way and I have no problem with them, but I read and post on this thread more than any and I'm finding it difficult to get used to.
The page numbers seem to have been going backwards since they took out the Deleted posts and reduced the pages to 1381. Since then, the count has been going backwards.

Linda; Seems like the boys are playing with their toys just because they can.

Sandie; Christmas isn't something I'm looking forward to this year either. Not after last year. Maybe next year will be better. It better darned well not be like this one!!! I'll be alone here this Christmas so I'm just hoping the weather will be kind and not flood me in. I can then go and spend the day with my adopted grandson, Joshua ((as opposed to my real grandson, Josh). lol

Weather here today is cool, grey and raining off and on. I have to go to Cairns this afternoon for an ultrasound so I hope the road out is going to be OK. I think we need some heavy rain to wash the fine stuff off the top and stop it from getting like a slushie.

Pam - I know how you feel. Although it is a long time now, it's not long as far as I'm concerned. Lost my husband three days before Christmas - the funeral was held between Christmas and New Year - so this time of the year has me not feeling like rejoicing. The inlaws and grandchildren have come along since then, so I have moved on - for their sake.

For the Poms - this is the best time of year for holidays. The schools are closed for about six weeks and many manufacturers close their factories - particularly if they have rushed to produce and deliver by Christmas, leaving the next few weeks 'quiet'.

My own family take advantage of this and go away. This is why I am happy when holidays are over and things return to normal. I usually undertake some kind of project while they are away. Might do more copying from video to DVD - there always seems to be plenty of that to do.

Good evening /morning all

lol Sandie, I'm here now and I will bring you up to date

well the pain is being caused by my Osteoarthritis which has got worse than it was 2yrs ago when it was diagnosed, the consultant I saw today said I need a hip opperation but he wont do them till a person is at least 55yrs old so it mean's I either wait till then or as his assistant told me I could see another consultant who will do it before that age. I asked about having the cortisone injection until he was prepared to do it and his assistant said he doesn't do them but the other one will. So now I will have to wait to see other consultant and see what he is going to do, in the mean time she has advised me to have physiotherapy which will help and to see my GP and ask for morphine patches to help with the pain.

~~~~~~~ to everyone here as I am on my friend's putta as I'm visiting them but asked to use it to let you all know how today went.
I will natter to you all tomorrow
Good night and enjoy your day to you all
I'm glad to hear from Diane. I've been waiting for her to tell us how the appointment went.
I must be off to do some washing. I wonder where our Sue is? Hope all is well with her.
Keep warm, all of you Brits. Talk to you again later.
Have a nice day Aussies (if any are here).
I really feel for you. I was pregnant on New yrs Eve when mum had a stroke, Mil collapsed at ours on boxing day one yr, there's other things too.
I don't know how long ago you lost your husband but at any time it must be devastating and memories flood back.
I'd go to sleep on Xmas eve and stay in bed until after the new yr ..if I was allowed.
Hi Everyone,
Winter has arrived - minus 3 tonight, and a high of 3 or 4 C. tomorrow.
Berona I am so glad of the wooly nightcap you knitted me, goes very well with the ankle length winciette nightshirt, and the bedsocks.
Diane - Glad you got to see the specialist, but seems you have a lot to think about - talk to you tomorrow.
Bed socks have been the order of the day for a few months now! Hate cold feet:(
I've had the heating on all day, and the tumble drier going in an attempt to get all the clothes dry.
I attempted to post this earlier, but our Internet connection at work was off line. I couldn't even get my daily fix of Column 8 in the Sydney Morning Herald. Anyway...
I think we all have sad memories at Christmas time about those who have left us. The same applies to their birthdays and dates of their deaths. This is surely normal.Growing up in the household I did was not great but not particularly bad either. However some unpleasant memories come back at that time.
We are now down to about 1364 posts. I am hoping that it is merely that all the deleted posts are being really deleted and that nothing has gone missing. Not that I would ever find it anyway.
On the good side, I am not having any problems navigating backwards.
For the Aussie thread I tend to leave it in the oldest on page 1 order, as there is usually so many posts to read and I find it easier that way.
For less active threads I use the Post Date button. With the old button I found that I had to click it at least twice.
Have a good day Aussies and Persey, and a good tomorrow to all top-siders.
And I have seen maps where the southern hemisphere is on the top; which reminds me of old trivial pursuit question- what is the world's southernmost national capital? National, not state or provincial.
It's not in South America.
Colin
PS Berona, thank you for reminding me. I will be at work, as usual. x Colin
Berona Report 24 Nov 2010 06:57
You weren't supposed to see that Colin. I wanted to surprise you! You can blame FB for that. They sent me a message about it - and I suppose all of your other friends received one too. Well, at least I'll be first to wish you Happy Birthday for Friday!
As for the southermost National capital. You'll have to tell me Geography wasn't my best subject at school and when I travelled, I went north, not south - it's too cold down there.
Hello all,
Popped in to say hello but no one here. So I'll say hello anyway. I'm going to watch some TV. Most unusual for me. The Good Wife and House are on tonight so I'll indulge myself.
Hope all are well.
