I have until recently been trudging along trying to trace back into my family history, but my uncle who is the lonly relative left alive that I still have contact with has started to show distinct signs of having demtia, he is desperate to see if there are any other living members of the family, Im just afraid if I dont try and find them soon he may not be in a coherant enough state to be able to talk to them.
Also he is now 77 and apart from his early dementia (which he isnt yet aware of) he also has a pacemaker due to a serious heart condition and 3 heart attacks, he also has blood pressure probs + a few other health problems all of which means he takes on average about 18 tabs a day.
I am still quite a novice at this geneology thing so I was wondering if there was anyone who could please help me to speed things up and try and find some living offspring if possible as this would really make his day, month and year.
Obviously because its living realtives Im after I feel once I am closer in the search to possible living family it would be better done through p,m's if anyone can spare some time to help I would be most grateful. thanks in advance

thank you to those who have offered so far, at the moment on my grandmother Winnifred (Wells formerly Hartland) side I know she was born in 1909 to a Charles James H Hartland born 1875 and a Caroline A Hartland formerly Macguire born 1868. my grandmother was one of six children that I know of an Albert not sure birth, Alice1899, Clara 1900, Carrie not sure birth and Charlotte not sure birth, other than my grandmother I dont know if any of her siblings had children as they seemed to drift off, Caroline Hartland was one of 4 children that I know of for sure William Henry Macguire 1857 Catherine 1859 George 1865 and a Thomas 1870. again I dont know if any of them married or had children. Charles J H Hartland was one of six known children Mary A 1867, Emily H 1873 Henry W 1878 Elizabeth 1882 and Harry 1879 born to a Charles Hartland born 1836 and a Caroline Ann Hartland born 1838 formerly Wright , Charles was one of four known siblings another Caroline !! born 1843 Emma 1845 a stepson Edward Jackson 1833 and a Maria Squele nurse child? 1850 Caroline Ann was one of three known siblings Henry 1840 Anne 1842 and another Charles!! 1845 I belive her parents were a Mary Wright born 1806 and a James Wright born 1806, I also believe Charles parents were a James Hartland 1811 and a Hannah Hartland 1813.
Caroline Hartland formerly Macguire was born from Elizabeth Rachel Macguire born 1829 formerly Radley, only know of 2 of her siblings a Louisa born 1823 and Anne Jemima 1827 and a William John Macguire born 1817 dont know of his siblings or parents .dont know of any marriages or children as of yet.
As for my grandfather Thomas Edward Wells born 1907 he was one of seven children although I am not sure of any years of birth yet there was a Rose, Lizzie(Elizabeth) William, Alfred, and Albert, there was another oldest but not sure of name or birth. his parents were a William Wells born 1876 one of 3 known siblings Hannah 1878 Edward 1881 and John 1899, his mother Martha Ellen Wells formerly Ferris born 1874 was one of five known siblings Mary A 1872 Louseina 1870 Henrietta 1865 and Esther 1863 Martha Ellen's parents were a James Ferris born 1835 not got his parents and Esther Ferris formerly Starkey born 1839 not got her parents, and not sure of any marriages or siblings from either side.
my mother had one child in Ireland with a very short marriage before me but he stayed with his father, Uncle never married or had any offspring.
I have so far found Wells , Ferris and 2 Starkey family members on my grandfathers side and Hartland, Macguire and Wright on my grandmothers side.
This is as far as I have got I hope this is of some use to help me get started though I will try and help with any further info where I can.

Couple of details I've found to get you started from the FreeBMD sites - it looks as though this could be Charles' marriage to Caroline. The details here will give you enough information to order the certificate if you want to.

Janice Im really confused now as I havent found a sibling Charles later on ( I assume he must have died young) also l found Clara 1b 313 in 1900 and Alice 1a 55 1899 yet your list shows their ages in reverse with Clara being younger??

Duh take no notice of me with the Clara and Alice bit they match the same as yours I have had a really stressful time am trying to cope with uncles health alone as my mother refuses to let my uncle give me her address.
on top of this l have a 19yr old daughter with a drug and alcohol problem. and thats barely a scratch on the surface.

There's a death of a Charles aged 11 in 1907 in London on FreeBMD so this is probably him.

When talking to your uncle, get him to look at family photos and talk to him about them, when people have dementia this sometimes helps, they seem to remember better.
