Hi Keith, sorry doc has told you not to return to work yet mate. I understand your frustration.
Use the time given to recover as best as you can & for as long as you can.
But if push comes to shove, I don't think your Dr can stop you from going back to work. As I understand it (from personal experience) once the sick note has expired you can choose to go back to work.
Alternatively look at working less hrs ie 3 or 4 days a wk. Or maybe a change of job.

Steve.

Keith while you are 'lazing' around at home, get supervising the planting of the veggies...so at least you will eat! ( no not being 'flippant', quite serious...and besides there is nothing in the world to beat taters you have grown yourself :)....)

Keith, my darling Mum (76, aka twenty-several) had a health scare the other day. This morning, the doctors told her that there was thankfully nothing sinister. To see her relief was tremendous.
Anyway, it's been a wake-up call for her, to take notice of what her body is telling her, when it tells her (you know what I mean). Maybe that's what your doctor's telling you? Just a thought. I know Mum's older than you, but although the human body is a wonderful thing, I guess we all take ours for granted at times.
Good luck; keep us posted, eh.
