I've never won a thing........though I go through stages of buying magazines specifically to enter them.........then I lose heart after about 3 wks when I,m not successful.

Started up doing them again........you've got to be in it to win it and all that.........

Anyone win from magazine and newspaper competitions on a regular basis? Or do you reckon it's a waste of time? xx

I used to do *looks round for Eldrick* Take a Break without fail, never won a damn thing. I gave up when my mate won her fifth prize from there in the same competitions.

I used to go to *looks again for Eldrick* bingo with her on a Saturday night, I'd win the lines, £20 or so...she'd win the full house...£500 upwards.

My next door neighbours came up on their lottery syndicate and bought their council house, did it up and sold it on at a huge profit during boom time a couple of years ago.

I've decided my lot is not to win...more like runner up.

*sigh*

I never win, though not through lack of trying. I believe, money goes to money. Rich or well off people always win, and they only buy one ticket.
Well thats my lot in life, the cards I was dealt.

The trouble with the magazine competitions is that s many people enter and they are only draws just as a raffle would be. All the correct entries go into a draw.

Having said that I did win a book in Practical Family history. won a travel scrabble in the local paper. and I have won a few small prizes from the 'send a postcard with name & address' type comps. Favourite was a day out at Gatcombe for the show jumping, others have been cookware and childrens toys, nothing big. used to do a lot of competitons at one time but don't do many at all now.

In the past two years I'v won heaps of things from magazine and on line competitions here in NZ. Mostly small stuff, I am waiting for my latest magazine win - a cd player clock radio - to arrive in six to eight weeks after being published in the winners page of the magazine. The magazine is one where you do a heap of puzzles and have to arrive at the winning words for a variety of prizes.

My other wins recently were a bug sprayer and bottle of bug spray and NZ$200 worth of skin care products.
