I think the £60 is a part repayment because they abolished the 10% tax rate

A one-off payment for all eligible for state pension, for which I was very pleased to receive; and used some on the 1911 census ... :-)

Hiya Dawnie and all,
So glad I did a search for "extra benefit" I knew someone would have the answer.
My Mum got it last week in her pension and I just thought it might be cold weather extra payment and thought no more.
Then today checked my bank and I had been given it!
I too have been on Incapacity Benefit for the last 19 years. I am now virtually housebound. 99.9% of the time these days.
It has come just in time to go towards the yearly prescription charge.
So I thank you Mr Brown I am extremely grateful.
Love to all who are ill and in pain.

George, of course you haven't caused us upset. I also get annoyed at people who try and 'cheat' the benefits system.

Dawnie, put your glasses on girl and check out my grey hair and wrinkles!!! LOL

Can I have a refund on my body as well? I'll have a slim and toned model too please!
I also need a new brain .... mine is so addled that I think a transplant is in order.

I agree about working and adult company as well ..... perhaps when I am feeling more 'normal' and settled.

Can I safely assume that Posters on this thread are of a certain senior age?

To me, old age is fifteen years older than I am. Some say I'm in the prime of senility. But I got no hand-out - next year perhaps!

Keep warm!

George
Im on IB because of long term illness, dont get housing or council tax benefit.

Yes I get free prescriptions but thats because hubby earns so little but would rather do that than claim benefit. I am sure we would be better off if he gave up work and claimed but he would rather work. He is self employed and has no work at minute and has today asked if we can get anything to help as have 3 children to consider the welfare of, but the woman at the jobcentre wasnt helpful at all and we are doubtful if we will.

Please dont tar us all with the same brush.

George, I am on Incapacity Benefit as I'm unable to work due to a long term illness. I only get the £10 bonus at Christmas.

I get NO housing benefit, NO council tax reduction, NO free prescriptions/glasses/dentistry, NO fuel payments.
