I think you will find it is an early payment of the increases normally due in April.

Something lap puppy Darling announced in his pre-budget speech.

Dawnieher3headaches Report 14 Jan 2009 15:32

thankfully not been below - here for that long well dont think it was but then I didnt go out.

Woman at IB said it was part of extra Christmas bonus not increases due at April

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 14 Jan 2009 15:38

It is not part of increases due April, it is an extra bonus. The £25 is a cold weather payment and is only paid to people in certain areas and who are drawing certain benefits.

Joan

I can be told something and then not remember it 5 minutes later so even though I watch the budget dont remember it.

I thought the extra £60 was a payment to pensioners not to others as well

George, I am on Incapacity Benefit as I'm unable to work due to a long term illness. I only get the £10 bonus at Christmas.

I get NO housing benefit, NO council tax reduction, NO free prescriptions/glasses/dentistry, NO fuel payments.

George
Im on IB because of long term illness, dont get housing or council tax benefit.

Yes I get free prescriptions but thats because hubby earns so little but would rather do that than claim benefit. I am sure we would be better off if he gave up work and claimed but he would rather work. He is self employed and has no work at minute and has today asked if we can get anything to help as have 3 children to consider the welfare of, but the woman at the jobcentre wasnt helpful at all and we are doubtful if we will.

Please dont tar us all with the same brush.

Can I safely assume that Posters on this thread are of a certain senior age?

To me, old age is fifteen years older than I am. Some say I'm in the prime of senility. But I got no hand-out - next year perhaps!

Keep warm!
