Mo, I'll send you my addy so you won't miss me out again, can't be bothered to sulk - too much effort..........lol

Marilyn, sorry to hear about your dad, I hope he'll be alright, is there much to cut out? How has he taken the news?

By the way Marilyn, I couldn't find the new cups when I made the coffee this morning, but I see Mo found them. What does that tell you?? It tells me that she must have hidden them away from me. She's afraid I'll break them!

Rita, we won't get the chance to see your story in the magazine. Is it too long to put on here for us to read?

No Shelly or Sue yet, they must both be working hard today.

Pauline it is not really a story it was how I came about finding my Grand fathers brother who DFHS knew I had been searching for for 6 years.and one of the members came a cross him by chance well she thought it was him and gave me some details via email and I traced them up. ,They have published a photo of Great Uncle Walter .
I headed it Found Walter Lee.

Many people will recall I have been searching for two brothers of my Grandfather Fredrick, Abslom and Walter . Joan from Devon Family History Society gave me details of a Walter Lee she had come across while researching for one of her relations she also supplied me with his service number I contacted the Archives in Islington and managed to get his full service record, which included all the ships he had served on , The records showed he had joined the Navy as a cadet. and the records showed how he had worked his way up to become a 1st class Petty Officer. His service records went up to and included 1911 where he was in the Dock Yard it showed he was retired but still classed as a Ship to Shore pensioner.
I have not been able to trace him after this..however the amazing thing that happened after this . I was staying with my sister which I do quiet often we had visited the Kew Archives and I asked her for a copy of two photos she had of our father while looking through her photo album I said I didnt know Grandmother had a brother William in the Navy surely William was in the 7th Dragoon guards with Grandfather ? I looked on the back of the photo and found he had written William Lewis Royal Navy , He reminded me so much of my cousin Stanley and I noticed he had an insigina on his sleeve after blowing the pohto and using a magnifying glass we could just make out the inscription 1st Class Petty Officer.. It was our Walter . If I had noticed it before I could have solved where Walter was all those years

Rita, that's what makes this hobby of ours so interesting. It makes it all worth while when you find someone you've been looking for doesn't it? Have you had any luck with the other brother yet?

Mo, it wasn't me, I didn't put those cups in the bin, I was looking all over for them this morning.

Marilyn might have to design some more for every day use, we can keep those posh ones for Sundays.

Where's Shelly and Sue?

412 for Olly

Well I had 3 youngsters here around 6:00 as Mum and Dad had parents evening. They were so grateful that they could go on their own. Well been there and done that as you say, so glad I could help them.

Just finished dinner so will have to stay up late to digest it.

Hubby now off for 4 days. Saturday eve we are going to hear a group and singer that youngest wants for her wedding. Probably have a meal out with future MIL too, so 5 of us in all.

Enjoy the rest of the evening

I've been getting loads of info for my tree, got a great contact, it'll take me from now till Christmas to put it all on my tree.

(**)? (**)? (**)? (**)? (**)? (**)? (**)? (**)? (**)? (**)? {**}?

Got the cups ready for in the morning, it'll save Linda a bit of time, well, as long as Mo doesn't hide them again.

Hi Everyone,

Just come home.....been shopping for goodies, they got a Factory Outlet near by and I had a field day ..!
Got most Christmas pressies for everyone,I hope I'm not overweight in luggage ......that would leave all the pressies expensive for over weight on my luggage, will have to pay for the weight !!.

Now whats all the fuss about these cups of ours ?
Have I got to get new ones....or what ?
I'll have to go to a Charity Shop to get a mixture ...got no money left !

Rita Great story teller you are ...
Let me know if there are anything that I should know about in the DFHS booklet .

Well got to get dinner now....Shelly I thought you sorted them Barber's
out , didn't know they were bothering you still....LOL

Just going up

Started cross stitching the names for places at the table. I think I have "mug" painted on my face. But truthfully I'm loving it but it is too repetitive
