thank you Marilyn. I do feel better now I went out this morning at 11 oclock when my old red eyes were no longer red.
I went to get my Warfarin tablets out of the cupboard as I sort them into days the same as I do the other tablets and put them into a 7 day a week pill box. I suddenly remember I had run out of them I had enough till Monday. so I looked for rmy repeat perscription and it wasnt on the notice board so I thought i will ask at the Chemist to see maybe i had taken the perscription in there no they didnt have it so I went on to the doctors and it was there had been since Wednesday I said it usually goes to the Chemist when signed she said she didnt realise that. (she is new to the surgery ) so as I was coming away I asked her I dont suppose you have a v acancy for a blood test my warfarin one due 29th she said no sorry but I can fit you in on 28th at 10.15 I said thanks I will take it. I think my husband must have been looking down on me as i had tried hard to get an appointment everysince Monday with no luck.so I would rather be a day early than a week late.

Marilyn give my love to your sister and tell her i know what she is going through but we have to come out of it in the end. they would expect it of us.
Love Rita

Rita Report 15 Oct 2009 16:52

Hi all
Mo I am here and read your bit about your parents sad isnt it when that happens in a family.
My mother had a sister and three brothers and we always stood together in all weathers relied on each other holidays spent together then one of the brothers daughters was getting married and we were all excited but his elder brother received invites but not his three sons. becuase they were always causing trouble drinking too much and fighting and so Mums brother did not want that to spoil the wedding of his daughter so they family all stayed away because of this. Mum was upset but she didnt want to go against her family.
No one spoke to him for years then my mums sister died of cancer and her Mother a few months afterwards he went to the funeral but didnt stay. then when my Mum died of cancer he came and stayed he told me he had been terrible upset but he had to stand his ground he was my Mums favourite as he was the youngest. the family didnt say anything but I was so pleased he spoke to my father and my sister and me. He and I kept intouch even when I moved to Norfolk.

I just had an email from my sister. she is scared of spiders she is very clever speaks three langues taught History and English at a school .the spider was in her bathroom she would not use the bath he was in there she would not wash her hair at the sink he went in there he hid all over the place then one day she went in and he had died and was on the floor.
she worte this ode to her spider.

Friend for so brief a time.
arousing in me such differing emotions
Apprehension, amusement and concern
Turning to what might be deemed affection
Decorating,in turn each dazzling wall or
playing games of hide and seek
Where are you today? behind the system ?underneath the sink? Then so precariously clinging to the ceiling
Now ended in a little pattern
of twisted limbs on the bathroom floor.

I thought it was so funny.

Evening everyone

how are you feeling Rita? I loved your sister's poem, I'm not very good with spiders, there are 2 in my lounge up near the ceiling, they dissappear for a while then come back. The central heating pipes go up through a hole to upstairs so I think they hide in there.

You can choose your friends but not your family
My dad fell out with his sister some years ago when their muim died and never spoke again. My dad died last year so nothing can be done about it now

morning all

well wot a night i had las night!!
i,d nearly finnished work when i came across a rottweiler stressed & limping
at the end of a country lane, she had obviously been hit by a car as she kept looking at the busy main rd! i put me hazzards on & jumped out of the van but when i got close she was a bit too grumpy!
so i rang police & they came out 30mins later!
meanwhile peeps stopped to help,i managed to giv her some water, an try an keep her safe as she stayed by my van, she didnt seem to like men!lol
she kept jumping up at van so i got out & she jumped in,she was ok with me at 1st then she wouldnt let me back in van!
then police turned up,nowt they could do but 1 had to stay with me as i couldnt get back in!!! luckily policewoman smoked & we all had a fag...lol
another 30mins later & dog warden turned up, took her alf hr to get her out!
police woman said better see if me van starts coz we,d had lights etc on.
& no flat battery, so someone from nearby house came an jump started me, then pc followed me back home...bless
now i wouldnt leave an injured animal, but a rottweiler bitch was funny!!!

now ive got busy day today

Hi Girls
Note I call you Girls you all are . Yvonne you are right you can choose your friends but not your family. I get on well with most of my famiy but have not seen some of them for years but I always get a card at Christmas with a little letter included. some of my friends I have had for years school years actually one Doris who lives in Devon we met at the school we were both five years old and have kept in touch ever since we are both in out late 70's but still send long letters. the other one Joan I also met at school she is two years older than I am and we have been friends for 73 years we phone and write and when I lived in Norfolk she came three times a year with her husband to see me while they were on holiday and took me out and to lunch on many occaisions. I have had good f riends whereever I have lived and still hear from them.

Sue what an experience you had I love animals but I am abit worried when a large dog approaches me now. I have no idea why. although I did have a great big alsation go for me when I was out walking my dog on the dunes in Caister my dog came running back to potect me and got badly bitten. perhaps thats why.
well time for my tea.

Marilyn, I was on yesterday, put your specs on and go back a page or two, I had 4 posts.

Shelly's busy, she's got work to do for her level 3, think it has to be in by November.

Linda, I'm pleased to see it went well for you yesterday, your dad obviously knows he was in the wrong. Happy families again.

Sue, I wouldn't have done what you did, I would have called for help, but I wouldn't have gone near the dog. We used to have a Rottweiler and it was a swine of a dog. I'd had dogs all of my life and never been afraid of any of them, but I was afraid of that one. It put me off dogs and I've never had one since. I'm pleased you got help for her though.

Rita, that's really nice that you still stay in touch with your friends from school. Goes to show you picked good ones.

I still live near most of the people I went to school with, I see quite a few of them every time I go to the shops. Don't need to write to any of them!

Edit; Forgot to say thank you for calling us all girls Rita.........LOL

And thank you for the cuppa Linda,

Don't know where my manners are today!

Opppps......Sorry Pauline didn't look that far back ....

Rita that's lovely to stay in touch for so long, I have two lots of neigbours from two different places where I lived in London that I have stayed in touch with over the years one of them being 43 yrs.

Funny thing happened last week while we were out my sons....he has a neighbour that my son got talking to, that happens to be my hubby's age,and said to my son during a conversation that he had gone to a( Sea School) which was also a boarding school,my son said my father went to a Sea School as a lad
This neighbour asked which one ? Mercury said my son........so here goes the punch line.....whats his name ? .....Oh I know HIM said the neighbour.
Now I have cut this story down a bit....the man came around on Sunday for a chat with hubby with loads of photos etc etc.
on returning the photos to his house he called my hubby in to look at a group photo of all the lads in uniform ....AND THERE WAS HUBBY IN THE LINE UP........now this neighbour is not from Devon nor is my hubby but here they were together again after 50yrs......
Now he has asked us out for a meal with his wife.....

Did you all enjoy that little saga ??????

Morning all :)

Lovely story Marilyn.....a similar thing happened to my Optician,he was talking to an elderly client who'd been in the Navy during the War-his Father was also in the Navy & the man asked which ship & could clearly remember the day they'd watched it being torpedoed & the Optician's Dad was one of the people they rescued!!!!!
It turned out every ship his Father was on was sunk,I bet every time they put him on another ship all the other sailors wanted to leave?!?

Marilyn and Eeyore I enjoyed reading that isnt it strange how these things happen some years back I use to read a magazine called "Yours "and someone had sent them a photo of the school they attended and it was during the begining of the war I was most a mused to see me there sitting at the desk. I reconised all the people there in that photo
