internet disrupting your family or working life?

"A teacher, accused of spending hours on the internet " (around 3 a day apparently ) " during class time, using social network sites, has been found guilty of professional misconduct. "

How long on the net is too long? can you go a day without logging in to your favourite sites? has a relationship suffered because you or partner, or children spend too long 'chatting to strangers' ? Does it worry anyone that we maybe now communicate at a distance better than we communicate close to?

I knew I had spent too long on here when I was typing a letter to someone and put " LOL" in it ...lol!

i have the same problem rose "lol" and "pmsl"

i leave pc on all day although i dont bother with it unless it lets me know i have a message, usually look in at gr some stage during the evening but not nearly as addicted these days...lol

Evening Stella, well I have been out all day and haven't missed it ...but then I was in good company doing something interesting .... it is when I am at home that I tend to keep drifting back on the computer...just 'to see what's happening' lol

I don't think the work place is the right place for chatting on the internet.......I don't doubt people do but 3 hrs a day is a bit much !

I'm lucky that there are a fair number of us in the house and we all battle amongst ourselves to get on the pc.....so it's self regulating really........thank God or I'd be stuck on here all day every day : ))

Alko....3 hours is only too long if you are supposed to be teaching children at the same time .....or getting paid to work at something anyway :)

yes, dont bother me in the day, but i do get quite a few emails and i tend to reply to those in the evening , and i use pc for homework and other things too.

i talk to lots of family on the net

Amanda I was writing Christmas cards and the letters to go in them when I wrote the "LOL" ! had to concentrate :)

I agree Rose, 3 hours at work chatting on the internet is 3 hours too much, where did she find the time?

I just know I'm going to make that mistake as well this year Rose..........lol
