My dad fell ill this afternoon. We think he has the flu that my brother had last week. However, he's never really fully recovered from the pneumonia that he had back in July. Mum just called and told me that she'd called the doc out this evening and as his oxygen sats are low & he keeps getting very breathless they're taking him into the hospital overnight.

I'd be very grateful if you could send positive thoughts and well-wishes his way.

Thank you.

Thank you, he's getting to be a real worry this year. The irony is that he's booked in for his flu jab next weds. Just typical. I don't remember him ever having the flu before, but I think he's become more susceptible due to this on-going infection that he's had since April (it became pneumonia in jun/jul and that went but he still had a rattly cough).

His name's Joe btw, I should probably have said that although he answers to pretty much any other name (Fred, Billy...) LOL.

Thank you all so much. I guess what goes around. I've given them enough worry in the past so I suppose it's only right he gets his own back LOL

hI Liz, I am sorry to hear about your Dad and hope he feels lots better soon. It's only natural you should be worried but he is in the best place to be cared for overnight, much less worrying for your Mum than having him home and breathless and her getting anxious. Hopefully your Mum will get some sleep ready to visit him and do anything necessary tomorrow/today.
You take care of yourself.

I must book my flu jab, thanks for reminding me.

Hi guys,

Well, they ruled out his heart and the doc said that while he does have some infection on his chest it's not pneumonia. When we left this afternoon they were doing a scan of his liver.

Mum and my brother are there now, so hopefully we'll find something out soon.

Mum hardly slept last night, she tends to be a bit overdramatic at the best of times but this just sets her brain into a whirlwind of worst case scenarios.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts.
