Son just rang from uni sounding like poo!He says they are all ill with sore throats ,colds ,aches, plus my son says he has been pukey too.
It always happens apparantly .Too much partying boozing and close contact is the cause I say!!!!
How are all your kids doing after their first week?

My Simon has been fine...........how I don't know. He went out last night in only a tee shirt. What is it with young people today. They won't wear jackets and get wet all the time. We are going to end up with a nation of arthritic 30 year olds

Yep, my daughter has it too! Strange thing is I would have thought she would have been exposed to just about everything by now as she worked in a busy chemist before she started Uni.

Mind you my 10 year old has been ill in bed for the past few days - schoolkids always seem to get ill starting back after the hols.

Now ,I think I should be called Delia. That is 2 culinary questions so far today.!!.He hasn't used the Uni laundry yet,so I bet maybe the next question will be about how much powder to use or something.
Just thought that means there will be9/10days worth of socks and boxers knocking around his room somewhere.

My grandson has been doing the cooking, he was amazed that 4 out of the 6 in his accommodation can't cook, and even more amazed that one lad didn't like anything the others suggested. goodness knows what some of these kids eat at home.

They give it to the staff too! Me and OH have been coughing and sneezing since Thursday (me staff/him student). No fun!

Loads of staff off with it at busiest time of year.

My daughter, after one week has also got it. The fact that the heating in her block does not come on until next week doesnt help either...tight wads!

I just thought that there are students from all over the world living in close quarters,so there will be all sorts of cold virus's etc.

Hi........I had a thought the other day, sent mine with concentrated fabric conditioner, went to great lengths explaining you don't put two cap fulls in 'cause they're small. That could've been a frothy experience for him.lol

I've got my fingers firmly crossed this year as my son's just gone back to start his 2nd year, and he's in halls again. Last year he was quite poorly several times as the Freshers' Flu went on his chest, and he was admitted to hospital once (though thankfully only for 24 hours). I've sent him back armed with a large bottle of vitamin C tablets lol.

Nickle Court doesnt ring a bell... I think there are two buildings called Parkwood. Parkwood House and Parkwood .... My daughter is in a block with five other flats, they all have their own en suite but share the kitchen, it is very modern...only three years old.Clare is doing a degree in French and German, also a year of Chinese. What is your son doing.

Jane

Jane Report 29 Sep 2008 17:50

Sorry that was me deleted.Think I gave bit too much info. But Bella Donna my son is also At Parkwood.Nickel Court.Wouldn't it funny if they are in the same block.
