The 1871 was taken on the 2nd April, so she might of been pregnant and was stopping by her sister

Or the 2nd one she could of been back home

I think you might have to come to terms with Edgar having been illegitimate. If Henry was already dead, then he really couldn't be his father, if you're lucky, she married his father later and he's named on the birth cert. If I was you I would purchase the birth cert that Sue first suggested without asking them to check father's name.

Might not of lied about ages

My G/Dad had the surname that was his married mums surname but it now turns out that the man she work for could be his dad

So if the 1881 is the correct family there's a possibility the Mr Cliffe could be the dad.....Your best bet would be to find them in the 1871 and see what Man was living with them

Why don't you order which ever one you think is most likely going off the info you have & not give any names for his parents?

You already know there's something strange going on because he has given the name of a man who was dead 5 yrs before he was born as his father when he married.

I think someone is lying about Henry being the dad if he died in 1866, it's just not physically possible.
