I tried to update and it says A. bin file is missing.

Go here and download the files at bottom of page to a folder on desktop and use the update manager from the tools menu

bin is a binary file

looks like the bottom file is missing..hence the problem...its a fault their end

Any idea why its been deleted?
I will have a search in binary file in a minute if I can find it, if we do how do we change it is get bin out of there if you know what I mean or if thats what you mean..

a "binary" file =.bin
is file which contains programmed information.

Its a problem their end..not ours..they have not got the file in the correct place for the program to automatically download....hence the program cannot find the file needed....

You can download the others and update those manually..BUT the other file we will have to wait for them to sort it out their end....

hope you understand that :)


Once they discover they have not placed the file correctly their end..im sure they will fix it then AVG will download as usual

You will be open to the particular backdoor trojan the file protects against until the the program is updated...but I shouldnt panic..it will probably be sorted soon..
Download the other files on the page i posted..that will protect you from those they refer to...

Its just one file is not correctly linked on the AVG site,,,,hence the program (AVG) is unable to download the update..hence the problem..its not our fualt or the programs..its the link the the file which is the problem..
Once they spot it im sure they will rectify it and everyone will be happy again! :)

Well it is a free program....so we cant complain to much.....lol :)

Im sure you'll be fine...
If anything gets throught avg will pick it up once they fix the link.. ;)
