My daughters friend's sister, her other half was diagonsed with cancer in the groin of his leg, he had been to the doctors 3 times and they said.........oh not to worry it will pass........ weeks later they send him for a scan and was diagonosed with a very rapid cancer in his glands, it's progessed to his spine and pelvis, he brought the wedding forward to febuary this year and he married his childhood sweetheart as they have a 3 year old sweet little girl, they applied to the council for a move as they were in a top one bedroom flat, he could'nt make the stairs so they gave him, his wife and child, a bungalow, he has had the chemo and the raduim treatment, they have sent him home from hospital, as they have said there is nothing more they can do for him, they have told his wife he won't last the week, she has informed the council that her husband is coming home to die, and the response the council gave her was a soon as he passes away you have 48hrs to move out of the bungalow, as we need it to house someone else, it sickens me that the council could be so cruel after hearing her husband is at deaths door, she has this over head that she must find somewhere for her and her baby to live, my heart goes out to them, for her to be a widow at the age of 23 and he is only 27, how can life be so cruel. |

Catherine, i agree with you there, down my way, if you have a drug habit, they put you on a methodone program, £250 a week in benefits, they put you in a flat, and kit it out for you and housing, and council tax benefit, which people chose to selflict this, harm to themselves, and then you have this poor couple who can't get sod all, where is the sense in that, ooo it maddens me. |

Please let us know of any updates and if I can do out to help, not that I'm sure of what, but I would like a shot. |

catherine, kemp, kay and all you lovely people on this wonderful site, I am more determined to make her stay put until at least she is in the right mind to do so, that what the council is saying they housed them because of his condition, and because he has very little time they will allocate the bungalow out to someone else when he passes away well it makes me wonder why we vote, i will never vote again not if they do this to this poor woman. |
