Snap ~ i am the same at first i thought it was coz I cooked them in an aga but I can cook potatoe wedges to perfection, then I tried to cook oven chips in an electic oven with the same results so now i don't even bother with them.

If they are bought oven chips I dunno never tried

but if they are home made oven chips ive never had a problem

par boil them first, spray baking tray with fry light, place chips on baking tray spray chips on baking tray then half way through give em a little shake to rough em up a bit and put them back in till golden brown yummy!

you can also sprinkle garlic or other herbs/spices onto them to give em added flavour

PMSL

If i put them on the for the time and at the heat it says on the bag they come out rock hard and burnt.........

So I figure - put them on a lower heat but for longer ............... they come out still uncooked in the middle

And to add insult to injury - i STILL manage to burn my tongue on the first one :O( lolol

Actually I usually do my own but keep a bag of oven chips - yes oven chips ( for emergencies) - which I deep fry - only takes about 3 mins, totally ruins the oil but then you should not reuse oil already used once anyway (cholesterol).

I cannot believe Steve you dont know what oven chips are !

Also where is our artist for discussion? lol - - whoops just read through the other threads - *on bended knee* apologies Steve.xxx

I'm usually ok at chips home-made or oven-
I get stuck on rice me-I never seem to wash it through properly and it's never like chippy rice-never.
