Nearly fainted, last time I was there smelt nice. I haven't lived there for yrs, but was born in Whitechapel, lived Poplar too so perhaps it just smells familiar. Doesn't say much for my sense of smell though! |

im on a weekend trip to london next weekend and we have planned a trip up the thames like you i just hope it will smell familiar left london 25yrs ago only been back handful of times but i love the atmosphere although the westend nightlife has changed - rickshaws everywhere !!! |

I lived in Grange Road, Ilford then moved to Barley Lane, Goodmayes. (Was in care, moved all over) - left '69 for Poplar, then '70 to Harpenden. Really panicked, thought it would be mud huts, had never heard of it - it wasn't thank goodness! |
