did you or would you provide a coach to take guests to venue and home later?
My daughter thinks she`ll need one --but it`s over 400 pounds --OH is having a fit. I know it will depend on where venue is but if people want to drink should they not make their own arrangements?

My son was married last year and his mother in law paid for two mini buses to take the guests home.........only about 7 miles away though.
I think really it should be up to the individual s to make their own way home.

My wedding and reception are a few miles apart. I have organised car shares. Those that have extra spaces to take those that dont drive.

I did consider a mini bus from local cab firm but guests that I have spoken too said it was a silly idea and they expected to drive.

Another friend is doing a wedding website for me and is trying to co ordinate the car shares through there.

I've been to 2 weddings this year and everyone made their own way or shared cars at both.

Ive also negotiated very good guest rates at the hotel and have at least half a doz bookings already so they can party and drive home the next day. And yes guests will pay for their own accomodation.

We`ve never been at a wedding where there was a coach , but daughter and her boyfriend have so they think they will need one. I said to OH people can stay in the hotel and drive next day or don`t come !!!

Jackie and I are providing a coach to run from our house to the reception venue and back to save people driving

We paid for a coach from the church to the reception mainly because most of the guests didn't drive. (It was a long, long time ago!)

lets try again last one went belly up.

Sister got married in a pedestrianised town with not a lot of parking so got people to park at reception and had a coach to church and then back to reception.

Just asked hubby as he was on coach with laddo who was 6 months old and said it was fine.

I was in luxury in the wedding cars with eldest and grooms sister just as well cos it was blinky cold she got married on 21st December

Admittedly it was 35 years ago, but OH and I paid for a 56 seater coach to take his family from London to our wedding in Middlesex. They did have a great time!

I've known people do it, but I think that the wedding costs enough without making it a completely free do for all the guests.

An open bar is as far as we went for my daughter... but it was a small wedding... a couple of hundred guests would have been a bit too expencive for us.

It would be nice to lay on a coach if people are coming from a distance... but they could each pay their own fares I think.

We had a mini bus from registrar's to the reception.
Then a coach from the receptionback home.
Don''t know if it was expected or not but we did it anyway.
