Think they're frogs, maybe toads, I've forgotten how to tell the difference! We have a small (but very murky) pond in our garden and get them every year.

Win or lose, sink or swim
One thing is certain, we'll never give in
Side by side, hand in hand
We all stand together

Play the game, fight the fight
But what's the point on a beautiful night
Arm in arm, hand in hand
We all stand together

La la la la la la la la
Keeping us warm in the night
La la la la la la la la la la la
Walk in the light
You'll get it right

sorry...couldn't help myself!

My friend up the road has a beautiful pond full of Koi. Every year she gets tons of frogs, which she hates!

So every year I get buckets of bonking frogs left on my doorstep (had 2 buckets already this year), and I transfer the little croakers to our murky ponds.

I'm sure I'm getting the same frogs every time, and they're making their way back to her!

Hasn't anyone else got them?

Dee, would you like some more? I have an awful habit of going out in the garden in my bare feet. I haven't trod on one yet, but nearly!

Alko Report 8 Mar 2008 17:54

Think my OH got one stuck in his throat cos his snoring certainly sounds like it. Sending it your way Maggy. OH too lol hes driving me mad.

Hoobity Report 8 Mar 2008 18:03

Am pretty sure frogs are normally green and smooth where as toads are brown and ruff with little wart like things on them. Frogs live in and around the water all the time, toads only go there to breed.

MaggyfromWestYorkshire

MaggyfromWestYorkshire Report 8 Mar 2008 18:04

I can send some over if you like Maz...lol...

Alkopahuntas, you can send the frog to Maz, in fact you can send her your OH if you like!

Hoobity, er..they seem to be different colours?

Teresa With Irish Blood in Me Veins Report 8 Mar 2008 18:08

Toads are usually mottled brown and have bumpy skin and are much larger than Frogs.......Frogs have smooth skin which can be mottled green/black, brown/black and even yellow/green/black.

Both need water to spawn in.

Frog's spawn is in a large lump whereas Toad's spawn is in a long line.

I've got loads of frogs in my garden...and they don't 'arf croak!

Myself and nexdoor neighbours both have a small pond ....... and this time of year we can have as much as 20 frogs in each pond and there are others elswhere in the gardens.

They love it when it's raining and can be seen hopping about the garden!

The frogs spawned over 2 weeks ago...4 great bigs lumps of it in my little pond!

The goldfish think its Christmas and will eat some...but plenty will end up as little frogs to make their way in the world!
